I know Villa Katerina since 1998. and whenever i go to Chania i stay at Villa Katerina because you feel like at your home and you have all the facilities such as air-condition, TV, Wi-Fi, washing machine, a kichinette and the most iimportant it is a very clean place with a beautiful garden at the middle of the 2 apartments building, where the guests can exhange talks having a cup of coffee or tea, and home made cakes offered by Kyria (Mrs) Katerina,

We have stayed with my mom for 2 days in June. It is very frendly family apartment, they have rooms and you can live just like local person. Food is not included course they do not have space for all guests together, but the apartment located in a very quite place, it has nice gaden with a lot of flowers, it is 5 minutes walk to the beach, 10 minutes to the bus station and 15 minutes to the city center. The rooms are renovated, everybody are very friendly, they offer bevereages and recommend ni.
Humble place with a lovely old lady running it. Don't expect luxury but is comfortable and cheap. Location is what it's all about. Easy to get to beach, town, bus station(!). We had a lovely stay for 2 weeks and would go back again. This place promotes the hospitality of Crete.
Alexander (i think that was his name) was so wonderful! he made the stay incredible. the place is really comfortable and located really close to a nice beach. They were extremely friendly and it was nice to be surrounded by a family.
We really felt welcomed by the owners who are so friendly and helpful!
The Hotel is located close to a nice district of Chania, you can easily
reached the city center and the beach by walk.

Katerina does not speak English.
Katerina was lovely but it should be noted she speaks no English, which was frustrating as Information Centre was closed. The floor in our room needed a good clean! Very basic kitchen facilities.
We never came in contact with English-speaking staff who could answer questions for us.
Katerina, despite first appearances is bad tempered & a maen buisnesswoman who reneged on a agreed discount. For this reason i would advise against staying here.
landlady has early dementia and gave us a cock and bull story about us flooding the room. Moved out stuff out and threatened us with the police if s-we did not pay. Then got her bull mastiff type male neighbour on us who had also lost the plot. had not a clue what it was all about and we
left in disgust. I am a 66 year old doctor and thought I had seen it all until I came across Madame Katerina. Please cross her off your list. She is a menace.
