Stone Village is a marvelous place, it’s the best hotel we’ve ever been to. Actually it doesn’t have the feeling of a hotel because you feel like you are in your own little Cretan village, except that everything is meant to serve your comfort needs and wellbeing. It not only looks great (with all the flowers, banana palm trees, pools, stone “streets” and villas, the view to the mountain of the mythical Talos etc.) but it IS great. all reviews » My husband and I stayed at Stone Village, Bali, for two weeks with our three children of 9, 14 and 17. Dimitris, the owner, and all the staff were genuinely helpful, friendly and generous. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious with a lovely view from the two balconies, and it was kept spotlessly clean by the cleaning staff every day. The complex is beautifully landscaped, and the food was delicious: well-stocked breakfast buffets and reasonably priced restaurant dinners, including a lot of loc. We stayed at Stone Village Hotel Apartments for a couple of nights, and we can only give it our best recommendations. The owner and staff are velcoming and friendly and provide excellent service! The place is peaceful and full of atmosphere and offers amazing views. Good breakfast with different kind of omelets and natural yoghurts, fresh orange juice. Hotel has Zoo which is a very good attraction for small kids. In evenings the hotel serves dinner in the garden under palm leafs. You can make a dish reservation for dinner. In case you were thinking about fooling around at night with your spouse… the rooms are not completely isolated from each other, so you can never get full privacy from the kids. A few minor repairs were needed on the furniture here and there, but nothing important for our stay, and nothing which impacted on our impression of the place. It was problematic to get into the public bus to Rethymno or Heraklion..long queues at the bus stop, as a result not everyone is allowed to enter the bus.. I would suggest to request the organization of more frequent bus running to cities from the site, at least in high season.. The bed mattress is not great. Really can be better. Studio was nice, but not in a value of 4 stars. Beds and pillows could be more comfortable. If you are sensitive to pillow, take your own with you. No ventilation in the bathroom. Hotel is about 1km from the beach, so you need a car.
