We had a wonderful time at Mantraki! We just wish it could have been so much longer. We were made to feel so welcome at this lovely family run place. When we arrived the staff made us feel like friends immediately. They sat down with us and told us all about the area, what to see in our short time, which beaches and restaurants to visits etc. Their advice made our time that much more enjoyable. all reviews » By far the staff was extremely hospitable and always wanted to know what they could do to make our stay even more pleasant. Truly, everything was just wonderful here. While it was not a 5-star hotel they treat you like a vip and integrate you into their family and culture. The best part about Mantraki is that it's not in the higher touristy area, making it very quiet and peaceful for relaxation. One could literally live here for the entire summer as there is a lot of room to spread-out. We enjo. This is a wonderful place to stay run by a very kind, caring and friendly family who do anything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. My girlfriend and I showed up just as they were opening for the day, hoping to check-in early. We were warmly greeted with open arms, coffee and sweets, and shown to our room to catch a nap. The owners showed us some places of interest to visit and suggested some great places to eat. The room was immaculate, comfortable and had a great view of. We stayed in 6 different places on our holiday and without a doubt this was our favourite. The staff were amazing, incredibly helpful and very friendly. The apartment was spotless, tasteful, well equipped and comfortable. It really was excellent value for money and an absolutely wonderful place to base your holiday. Apartments are spacious, comfortable and airy. Everything needed is provided. They are spotless and well maintained. Mantraki is very close to shops, restaurants and the spotless beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening musical entertainment provided by Costas and Yiorgos in the reception area. We hope to return to Crete someday and stay here again. The staff at mantraki are awesome, they go above and beyond, they are super helpful and always willing to help, we liked the apartments, spacious, with kitchen, and a separate bedroom, also we like it has a fridge so we could do our own shopping and cook as well, the balconies have nets for mosquitos and flies, which is a plus, and it has aircon. location is good as well, close to the beach, and they have private parking, it was a very nice stay!. The best thing about Mantraki Hotel Apartments was most definitely the hosts. It was a superb family-run hotel, and the owners couldn't do enough to help us. We asked for a room with a sea view and that is precisely what we got, and what a superb view it was too. We even got a goodbye song played and sung for us by the host, Costas, who plays the accordian. Brilliant stay and we would recommend to anyone wanting the family-run hotel experience. Parking was a bit of a problem as the car park was small, but we parked in the street.Small cars preferable. Would be even better with a pool.but lovely as is. Not any complaints. Overcrowded city centre. I wish I had known about the small kitchenette, the market early in the week, the little fish market a few blocks away and all the opportunities to cook meals. We ate out the entire time we were there. I have already planned to return next year, and as I love to cook, I am looking forward to using the little kitchen space better.
