This is one of the most wonderful guest houses I have ever seen. Everything is perfect. The staff is very friendly. There are welcome amenities: tea and coffee 24 hours, free wi-fi, a minibar with reasonable prices. We stayed in a room with a balcony - fantastic view. The furniture may not seem very luxury but there is a feeling that you are in your summer cottage.The bathroom facilities - very good! The lake is not far. The restaurants and shops are within walking distance, although the hotel .
all reviews » Beautiful location, large room with balcony and large bathroom with separate shower and bath. Very clean and comfortable (Although beds too soft for our taste). Good breakfast in the mornings and bike hire available. We had no car but it was an easy walk from train station (half an hour flat walk along the river). They also gave us free bus pass which we didn't end up using on our stay but could be useful. Typical beergarden/restaurant in the local village (500m away). A wonderful family-run guest house in beautiful Shoengau am Koenigsee. In addition to its closeness to the Koenigsee and great hiking, Schoengau offers one of the best public outdoor swimming pools I've seen and is great for kids. Very comfortable rooms with a clothes washing machine and dryer available to guests. A great value and my favorite of the five hotels I stayed in during my stay in Germany. Note that this hotel is best for guests with cars. Absolutely amazing hotel! We arrived really early but our room was already ready. We had tons of questions about the area/attractions and they were all answered very patiently. The breakfast was to die for! The room was so clean and so cozy that we didn't want to leave that place. The view was amazing too. How many times can you say "we were home away from home" about the hotel? :). Wonderful room, terrific view--even in the rain. Room 4 was big, second floor well lit, large door/window to view across field to mountain. Our visit was in the rain, but still very nice stay. I wish I had booked multiple nights. Located in beautiful slope with a excellent view of mountains and green fields. Room is nite and tidy in that it is perfectly decorated in the same colour tone. The place is older, but well kept. The bathroom in our room was very modern and looked recently renovated. A pleasant surprise for sure. The view of the mountains from the hotel, the easy pleasant walk to the local shops, the tea and coffee facilities were available at all times. The owner could not speak English but was very helpful. When we arrived Maria was lovely as were all the staff even letting me wash my filthy car after a long drive from north east england ,the room was clean and comfortable and the views spectacular we would love to stay again sometime. Very friendly and helpful lady in charge of welcoming and settling in guests,quiet surroundings, close to Eagles Nest, Koenigsee and Salzburg.Great breakfast and had clothes washing facilities as well as a communal refridgerator. WiFi reception was a little spotty but useable. The hall light switch (hallway lights are on a timer) closest to our room didn't seem to work, as though it was stuck. It was just a step to the next switch so this was just a minor thing. Parking a little tight. Connectivity to hotel from berchtesgaden station is not very frequent by bus. Nothing. A little far away from King see(3km) without convinent public transporation. not so convenient public transportation; only once in one hour for public bus from train station to the lake. Only drawback were the mosquitos that got into the room. Not sure why no European facilities use screens. Such an easy fix to an irritating problem. Unusually hot for Konigsee area. Most hotels in area do not have ac. None!. Bedside lamps. The bed was not comfortable at all. The breakfast had not much choices and there was no refill when some items were out. Nice place except that one of the most important things was missing - a comfortable bed. Extremely soft mattress, couldn't lay on the bed, just sank deep into the mattress, even turning around on side was difficult, it was so soft. Wouldn't stay there again just because of the beds. Just so so. There's bad smell from the pipe in bathroom and spread out all the single room.
