This was a surprise. It is a wonderful old grand hotel built on the site of a ruined castle, with mediaeval tower and dungeons still there. The room we had looked over the village, typical of the the Black Forest. It is a little out of town, and way up on a hill, but that gave lovely views. Beautiful lakeside view with perfect tranquility over good continental breakfast. Nice bread and local cheeses. Staff kindly waited until past midnight for us to arrive. -

The location was just perfect - 5 minutes from the railway station. Marvelous view on Bodensee from the roof where there is reception and where breakfast is served. Big room (rather an apartment) with individual design inspired by exotics lands (I was sleeping in "India").
