Potsdam Hotels

Needed some where to stay prior to flying from Berlin, whilst this hotel is approx 45km from the airport its by far the best family hotel I have stayed at in the region. Fantastic prices, facilities and superb river walks. - Michelle

I stayed here during a conference, the lectures of which were also held in the hotel. It is a very pleasant hotel, with a location within a ten-minute or so walk from the town centre. Hotel was very clean and bright, breakfast buffet was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. On the downside, the hotel does not have much character and I could imagine getting quite bored with it after more than a couple of days. Having now stayed at Hotel Am Luisenplatz twice during the past two years, I am delighted to report about a friendly, clean and quiet hotel in the centre of Potsdam, Germany. The Manager and his wife are very helpful and they both speak excellent English (there are very few English speakers in Potsdam) which is a great advantage. The rooms retain the charm of the late 19thC building they are in, some have balconies overlooking the square and beyond to the (Potsdam's version) Brandenburg gate - Peter

We booked our stay at this hotel ahead of time for only 55 Euros for both of us in a double room for a night, which is a pretty good rate. The location is as good as it gets for me, as it is almost right across from train station, so it's only about a 5 min walk to get there (have to cross the bridge) (being close to the train station is my biggest priority, as I always like to walk and i visit many cities on my trips so im always arriving and leaving). The staff behind the Reception desk were warm, friendly and helpful, which is always a good start. Our room, which overlooked the courtyard, was quiet, comfortable, a little bit old fashioned and somewhat quaint. Fairly generous in size it had a door, with an obscure glass panel, leading to the shower room (no bath) and WC. Another door, or rather a quarter door of the wild west saloon type, which swung backwards and forwards, gave entry to wash basin area and a large wardrobe. No toiletries - Ian

We lost track of our days during our vacation and arrived a day early at the NH Voltaire. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and professional and accomodated us with a room for the extra night. All staff at the front desk spoke English. We had requested a superior room for our original stay and they were able to provide this even though we arrived a day early. Our room was no ready but they have a very secure room where you can leave your luggage. The room was located in the older sec - Michael
