Hotels near St. Michaelis Church

I stayed at the hotel in early march 2009 for business travel. I found the hotel to have all the amenities required for an upscale business hotel and the location was great. The bed was really good quality (great bedding and mattress), good lcd tv and desk area. Restaurant and bar on premise were also good. The decor is contemporary and the rooms and public spaces look recently renovated and in excellent condition. The only caution i would make is if you are sharing a room with someone....the - Kevin

spent two nights here and was very satisfied. the property seems to have been recently renovated and i had a very pleasant junior suite - with kitchen, bath, living and sleeping area. make sure to request a room on a higher floor away from the noisy restaurants on the ground floor. my room on the 4th floor was very quiet and pleasant. large bed, very clean, excellent kitchen facilities and plenty of space. the neighborhood, though not right in the center, is very convenient with taxi or - Evelina

It's been almost two years since I stayed there....but I just got into the writing online reviews thing now... The hotel was in a quiet place, not very exciting, but the room was nice, clean, and it was in a convenient walking distance to the major attractions (red district, water, shopping area, etc). I've stayed over two weeks at the Madison on business and I'd certainly go back. The staff are charming and efficient, the rooms are well proportioned, the bathrooms work well, the internet connection is fast (but not free). Most importantly, for me, there's an enormous gym attached the hotel. I believe there is also a pool. Another great plus is that if you give the reception a shopping list they will fill the fridge and cupboards of your kitchenette with whatever you desire. The hotel has jus - Beverley

Around 40 euro for a double room in a decent hotel in Hamburg - if you can accept that the bathroom's in the corridor. That's what you can get at Hotel Stella Maris in Hamburg. The only bad thing about this hotel is that it's often fully booked a long time in advance - at least if you want the above mentioned cheap rates (the zimmers mit Etagenbad). no surprises here - 5 star service, excellent room, spacious and quiet. made use of spa and had good experience there too. the location is very convenient. the only thing it lacked was a pool. if you want that, the marriot might be a better choice, all other things being equal. - Bernadette

Stayed in a Kommandanten class room in Hamburg for one night as this Hotel was convenient to the Harbour. The room was of very good size and spotlessy clean. There was a slight problem with one of the windows. The view was situated in the tower with a great view of the harbour. The hotel is situated on a high hill so there are a great many steps down to sea level. The hotel does not have a sauna/gym even though the sauna is listed in the service booklet in the rooms. I spent 24 hours at this Sofitel property in April 2009 as I waited for a cruise ship departure from the nearby Hamburg Cruise Center. It compares very well to any large hotel chain both in appointments of the rooms and first rate service by its English speaking staff. The large bed, actually two twins blended together, with separate duvets was very comfortable. The bathroom was very large for the price of the room (US$225) with both a large shower and a bathtub. I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights whilst in Hamburg. This hotel was alot better than I had expected. Firstly, the staff are excellent. very friendly and professional, including the cleaners! They were also helpful with the questions I had. There is a free internet connection which was also handy. I had a smokers room and it was clean and tidy and did not smell of stale smoke. A friend and I stayed at Hotel Cafe Keese for a long weekend in April. The hotel staff were very friendly, and were very helpful, letting us check in early and check out much later than the designated time as we had a late flight out of Hamburg. The rooms were basic but ultra clean and had a very nice spotless bathroom. The Hotel is located on the Reeperbahn in the St. Pauli area of Hamburg, Which is an awesome area if you are in Hamburg for the nightlife. This hotel would suit young coupl - Paul

We stayed at the Renaissance for two nights, mainly because we got a great deal for a five-star. My wife is from Hamburg, and we actually met other natives who have chosen the Renaissance as their port of call whenever they visit their home city. The hotel is very centrally located, and the rooms and facilities are modern and sleek. Our room was smallish, but quiet and pleasant. Had a lovely Springtime stay at Hotel Hamburg. We stayed in a family room which gave us loads of space - our daughter was practically in a separate room. The hotel is owned by a lovely young couple also with a little girl and Snuffel the cat, and we were made to feel so at home. Convenient for the U-Bahn (5 mins walk - 10 mins ride to the Altstadt), there is also a supermarket and two decent restaurants close by. The Hotel Commodore is an excellent hotel, a couple of friends and I stayed here for five nights over the New Year period. Our room was a real nice size, and was very clean; the bathroom was also a nice size and was absolutely spotless. We had a fridge in our room too which was awesome, so we could chill some drinks for the New Year celebrations. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and always welcomed us with a smile.
