Hamburg Apartments

The Hotel Garni Mittelweg is more like a family owned friendly little castle. The is not actually a restaurant, but the breakfast romm is really something to write home about. They have a lovely choice od dishes from freshly baked rolls to home baked cakes/pastries as well as cold cuts and cheeses. The hotel is located in one of the more posh/residential areas of Hamburg but very close to the city center as well. We stayed at the Marriott for three nights in December, and had booked a large business-room with breakfast included. The price for the room was quite high, so we expected the hotel to be good. Which it turned out to be! Our room was close to 40 sqm, beautifully furnished, good sitting-area, great bed, stylish and well-equipped bath-room with tub, and free minibar (except for a bottle of red wine, which could be bought for a reasonable price). City Apartment Hotel Hamburg is not as the name would imply in English. It is more like a country B&B you might find in Vermont, with a kitchenette. The rooms are lovingly decorated, with ample space for working, dancing to your iPod or just hanging out. It is kept very clean. The staff is friendly, without being overbearing. They are helpful if you ask for it, and know to leave you be if you want privacy. They serve a huge European style buffet breakfast every day, and there is a quiet bar - Vanessa
