I told them it was our honeymoon and when we got to our room they'd sprinkled rose petals on the bed and the floor and the shelf in the bathroom. They'd also placed chocolate on the pillows. I liked the staff very helpful, she shook both our hands on arrival making it more personal. The view was lovely in this hotel, the rooms with the balcony were great. Pool sauna great. The hotel staff is extremely well trained and everyone made it their mission to make sure we were happy. The view is wonderful and the food is fabulous -- though not cheap. The robes and slippers add a nice touch.
all reviews » Location at the edge of the forest overlooking freiburg. Many walkspossible from the hotel and even to the old town was only 50 mins. Therestaurant has an excellent chef and the food delicious and inovative. Very kind staff and wonderful facilities (swimming pool/ sauna). First day June 2 the breakfast buffet was basically empty. table was not set, we had to ask for silverware, cups for coffee etc.. No rolls (brucheon) the staff was friendly however and helpful. Second day the buffet was better but still the value was not there. At breakfast, they could have provided a 'meet and greet' host who tookyou to a table, rather than leaving everyone to find their own.The chilly temperature of the spa. The cost of breakfast...No breakfast in Germany would ever be worth 17 euros per person! We ate extremely well during our travels throughout the country and often payed less for an evening meal...drinks included! We did not take the breakfast and kinda felt cheated...the room was a great value but breakfast shoould be affordable and was somthing that we included as a standard in our hotel bookings. rooms small and need refurbishment, meals poor. Noise and old not comfortable furniture.
