Much less expensive than many of the other EuropeN cities we stayed in, cologne was a great addition to our trip! This hostel is great for backpackers Nd youn couples who need a budget friendly option. The room was clean and cozy. We paid extra for a private bathroom and it was very nice. Community bathrooms looked clean as well and they provide lockers for guests to keep their things during the day. Security was outstanding and we felt very safe.
all reviews » It is very flexible and does not cheat : a very good hostel, well maintained with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. It is also difficult not to meet anyone there. Then the dormitories are spacious and in good condition. No fear of gloomy rooms. Everything is à la carte : you add whatever you want - like the breakfast. It is also very close to the main station. It was our first experience in a hostel and was great. Our room was clean and had private bathroom. Despite of been full of teenagers it was very silent. We used the kitchen to prepare lunch for our 3 years old daughter. We strongly recommend this hostel and next time we will certainly prefer this type of place to stay. Very nice hostel all around. The location is very good, you can get to almost every part by walking. The rooms are very well, you have a side table in your bed and plugins right next to you. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. Very nice personal too. Would recommend it definitely!. Every time i stay in this hostel i find more developments and progress. Additionally, there were strange men hanging around the front door who harassed every woman that walked by. I don't think they were hostel guests but made me feel uncomfortable and were there twice when we came back in the evenings. I stayed only one night!. Some minimal details in the bathroom: the showers don't have a limit so the floor gets all wet and the baths don't have plugins for the hair drier so you have to use it in the room. No place for smoking inside the hostel. Wi Fi only in public places, not in the rooms. I'd appreciate some bedside table or small wardrobe next to the bed. Unfortunately, We found three things that we didn't like: a very battered pillows :) sheets soaked with sweat and not very clean toilets. one morning we didn't have the light in one bathroom, i had to find another one with the lights on. Wifi didn't work in rooms. Both fridges could be cleaned more often, but in general the kitchen has got all the appliances to prepare a meal and it is kept clean. the bathrooms were a litle bit dirty. The breakfast was rather expensive for us. The WiFi connection was really bad. My only complaint is '' the kitchen was really dirty''... free Wifi does not reach to rooms. No wifi in room (3rd floor) and wifi in common areas extremely slow on 1st night, slightly better on 2nd night. Wifi only available at lobby. Closing/opening doors could be loud for some people sleeping on their own time. There are no lockers in the room, you have to put your lugagge in a locker outside the room, when you are lucky to have one available witch we didn't. The kitchen utensils weren't properly cleaned, maybe because of the lack of hot water in the sink. The kitchen could do with being tider and better maintained, but it was very nice to have a communal kitchen. Maybe too old bed linen with holes, but it's really didn't matter for us. You have to carry your luggage for at least one floor, watch out if you have heavy luggage. WiFi not functional, but PCs were OK. No wifi in rooms Bathrooms not that clean. Elevator doesn't work on every floor. it was cold in the room and there were a strange smell. Loud people coming in really late and an elevator which isn't much good. WiFi really needs improvement. If not there on weekend it might be OK. Had to dress the bed!. no free breakfast. but the have a mini restaurant to sell breakfast. The pillows are unusably soft. internet is not available in room. nothing. the sound-proof effect is not very good. Most toilets were cleaned in a basic way, leaving a bad odor coming out even to the corridors leading to the rooms. Shower is not so hot,wifi is not avalbalbe in the room.
