  This hotel was very different to most we have stayed at. It was uniquely special. We were effectively welcomed into the owners' home (which is a very grand castle) and treated as a member of their family for the duration of our stay. This is no Hilton but as a stopover en-route down south it was an excellent choice for location and great value for money. Very good typical French breakfast with great coffee. We plan to return in August on way to Southern France. - Just a simple hotel, good beds and linnen. Friendly staff. Bar open till late and drinks are very affordable. Unfortunately we did not have breakfast or lunch, so I can't tell about that. Menu looked good anyway.

The rooms are not massive but everything one wanted was there and the shower head can be adjusted so if you are very tall like me you can set it high enough to not have to stoop over while showering.   We wanted to stay in a traditional french chateau and not a typical budget hotel. The Chateau is quirky, the owner non english speaking but lovely and friendly, we had a family room with lots of old traditional furniture and fresh made coissants, orange coffe and hot chocolate in the morning - just what we wanted. Colette couldn't have been more lovely and accommodating. We stayed in Le Suite. My 2 girls loved staying in the chambre jeune filles, and pretended they were princesses the whole time we were there. Our room was beautiful too, with a magnificent four poster bed and our own small en suite.. Heartily recommend. We stopped on the way back to the UK from SW France as the distance was perfect.
