For a one person room it was perfect for a short stay.The management was great and dealt with anything I asked for.The room was honestly immaculate it was a non smoking room and the no eating rule seems to have been applied before by previous guests.The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bedsheets crisp and clean.The bathroom had a great shower and immaculate.The cost for the room was a bargain and would definitely stay there again when I return to Tours.Its a beautiful area wonderful restu.
all reviews » Good location. The lovely room (junior suite at the attic) was smartly decorated, spacious and verry clean. Owners were absolutely charming and we felt well looked-after (although they don't speak english). Great breakfast with a real sense of old fashioned hotel. Free wifi with good connection. Unbeatable price. The special attention to our comfort, eg the warmed coffee cups at breakfast and little easter eggs on easter sunday. No, but there is no elevator, if you have large baggage, it might be a trouble. Bathroom a bit cramped and very little leg room for the WC! All very clean though and everything worked.Quite a lot of building work going on at the hotel but this is done in a considerate way so guests are not disturbed. Nothing much! To be critical, steep stairs to upper floors, no lift, so not good for old folk or those with lots of luggage! Local on street parking difficult, although station car-park only ten minutes away. The towels were so rough that we couldn't use them. They were like sandpaper. There were also a large number of stairs to the room which could be a problem for anyone that has problems with climbing them. Have to log back into Internet every 5 minutes = frustrating. Not allowed to eat in room. Nothing to dislike, hotel was true to description and was both central, comfortable and quiet. Cramped shower room and slightly claustrophobic feeling because of works to the stone outside. Whole building covered and so no windows open and no light! Breakfast is poor value. Separate beds, but each of them quite large; the town didn't impress us. renovation work ongoing but did not unduly disturb us. Location is not good enough, a bit far to the station and centre but still walkable Wifi is not stable enough. Since it is a small hotel in an lovely old house, it has a small stairway and no lifting, so we had to carry our heavy bags thru them by ourselves. It was hard. Reserve your parking, street parking is impossible. Rather ramshackle building. Nothing. The spiral staircase three floors up was a bit tricky. It was very difficult to get the lock on the bedroom door to work. The light goes off regularly when in the shower and the breakfast was poor. Breakfast which was charged at 6 euros per person per day. Our junior suite was on top floor (3rd) so bit of a trek. Not good for elderly guests. Bathroom so small that we could not sit straight forward but had to sit side saddle "Breakfast" was only small juice, tea, and bread: not what was implied Really more of a B & B than hotel Stairs were tough esp on the top floor Were totally reconstructing the front and some of the inside, very unattractive, should have been warned. The stairs to the room are really narrow and steep. No lift. Be careful if you have big luggage. The old gentleman at the reception was nice but doesn't speak English at all... The hotel is under reconstruct. construction not yet finished. The hotel is not an hotel but a B&B undergoing update and renovations. If you are on the top floor (where currently the best rooms are) there are 43 rickety wooden steps to climb which are narrow and obstructive when carrying luggage. Host did not want to know us after he realised we were not french. Host would not help carry luggage upstairs. No elevator, 3rd floor room accessed via rickety stairs. Entrered hotel via back yard gate under clothes line thru back door, awful! No explanation or apology why the front entrance couldn't be used. Breakfast just dry bread & jam. Other places provided generous breakfast for same price. Hotel was disappointing. Unfinished building work on the way to the room. 'Breakfast' consisted of a cup of coffee and a few slices of very dry bread for €6 pp! Hosts very keen to tell us what we couldn't do. Rickety stairs unsuitable for those with mobility problems.
