  We had an enjoyable stay at the Chateau de Pourtales and do hope to return. Every morning we had a wonderful breakfast served in a cheerful room in the Chateau. Our accommodations were in an adjacent building - quiet, comfortable and clean. The Chateau is surrounded by a beautiful park which includes many interesting works of art. For those who li... what people say » ke to hike or cycle, there is an adjacent parkland which includes a link to a Veloroute Rhin-a cycle route that runs along both sides of the Rhine fro - the chateau is located about 5 minutes drive from the center of Strasbourg. The rooms are in the chalet next to the chateau. Our room was very comfortable with a fan, which was very nice since it was about 30 degrees Cel. during the day. The bar is self service. For € 70 per night incl. breakfast, this hotel we certainly can recommend. At the entrance of the chateau gardens is the wonderful restaurant Jardins du Portales. We really enjoyed lunch, and two times diner for a very reasonable price!

  We booked the connecting double/triple rooms. It was absolutely perfect for our family! My husband and I took the double and our 3 boys had the triple. The hotel's location is great! There is a tram stop about 200m from hotel, but we didn't need it. Everything can be walked to. There was one gentleman at reception that was absolutely, completely a... what people say » mazing. I wish I knew his name because he was so incredibly helpful and friendly. - There was a slight mix up with our reservation, but the staff went over and above to resolve the issue, and even gave us an upgrade "for all the troubles." They were very pleasant and helped us plan our day. The location was perfect, right near the river, walking distance to all kinds of restaurants and tourist attraction. Breakfast was very good.

  After a long day of sightseeing, this was the perfect place to "come home" to... the receptionist was friendly and efficient with the check in process and it was of course fantastic that she could speak to us in both English and German. I don't rememmber her name, but she was extremely helpful when we needed to order fast food dinner after midnigh... what people say » t.
