  Although it is on a busy roundabout the rooms are very quiet due to soundproofing and quiet air conditioning. Our room 401 had a balcony which we used as the views to the mountains and harbour were good.   We only stayed for 4 days in La Maison Tamarin but didn't want to leave really. It is just perfect, even the rain couldn't spoil our stay. There is a very cosy and beautifully decorated "lounge-salon" where you can sit to read a book, listen to music, or look tele. Our room was very nice with good beds !   This wee hotel, a renovated building with seven guest rooms, is smack-bang in the heart of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, on the main pedestrians-only walking street (thus vehicular access is from the back). The street can be packed with people, but it closed down at 8 P.M. when we were there in April, offering complete quiet for the evening.
