There are very few good options for a family of four, especially with teenagers-- but this is one. With most hotels, four guests required booking two rooms, but Hotel Des Comedies has a great Family Duplex room with a super comfortable Queen bed, and a loft with a double and a twin. Plus two bathrooms. It's clean, modern, and safe.. And a very reasonable price. A lovely British desk clerk/concierge helped us store our bags (as we arrived early for sightseeing.) all reviews » I loved the staff at this hotel. The front desk was very helpful. Especially a lady named Mili. The front desk in general guided us about train stations, restaurants and everything else that we needed. The location is spot on with the metro station right next door. We had a change of plan and extended the trip by two more days but they were sold out. Still they called up other hotels in vicinity and got us reservation. The other hotel was right next door and had bigger room but still was terrib. The room was beautiful, clean and quite spacious. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom with tub and shower. The breakfast is good with plenty of variety. The staff could not have been more helpful and spoke English too! Great location with all kinds of shops, theatres and cafes and easy access to busses. We took a hop on / hop off bus and saw all the popular sights of Paris fro here. About a 15 - 20 minute walk from Gare Du Nord train station or a €12 cab ride. Felt very safe and comfortable . The location is perfect. A silent by-street and still just 200 meters from Metro Strasbourg Saint-Denis where 3 lines cross (4, 8, and 9). A large number of good restaurants in various price levels along the streets in the neighbourhood. The reception staff is kind and helpful. The rooms are good with everything working and comfortable. This is an extremely comfortable, clean hotel with great breakfasts! It has lovely French style. The room for one was small as one expects in France but everything that was needed for the guest was provided. There was no view from the open windows and no real seating area in the rooms if that is what you are looking for. Area is bustling, near theatres, bistros and bars. If you want quiet tree lined streets this may not be a good choice. All good, money well spent. The single room is quite small, but for a few days is manageable. The pillows were too soft. The bed had a waterproof sheet on which was very uncomfortable. Could have easily taken it off but was too tired. Bathroom slightly dated and room got a bit hot during the night. Driving to the hotel. While there is adequate parking next door, the hotel is about ten minutes off the highway and through a lot of Paris traffic. Not for the faint of heart. But not a deal breaker either. All was good....no problems. No negatives. went this week, so the switch from heater mode to ac mode is not done.had to sweat in night. Expensive. I don't think it's too expensive compared to other hotels nearby. But I could find many luxury hotels in Tokyo at the same price. The tv didn't have english subtitles....LOL!. Nothing. All was excellent. Breakfast a bit pricey for what was on offer (13 euro a person). Shower fixture was loose. But no real complaints to put us off staying there again. Some may find the shower stall quite tight, as to not be able to turn around. Nothing really, would definitely stay there again. Absolutely nothing. the street is very noisy - the window is not double so you here it all... i did not sleep good at all! also we could hear the ppl next door and the lift. The corridor is very narrow, and the neighborhood is not very nice...
