The cozy 2 bedroom accommodation was clean and nicely furnished. I can't go too much further into the review without noting that English speaking staff were available upon late check-in (somewhat of a rarity in France). The full bathroom did not skimp, with comfortable towels, a heated towel radiator, and a hair-dryer. The full kitchen had a fridge with small freezer, microwave, and stove. The combined washer/dryer came in handy with 4 young kids and the mishaps that go along with that. The bed.
all reviews » The staff was very friendly and helpfil. We asked about prinzing out some zickrts we bouhht for the Monrt house and there was no problem! Our studio turned out to be a one bedroom appartment! A very big one on the ground floor! Very spacious bedroom, a big bathroom with a tricky shower (the handleholder was not strong enough to hold the handle). A nice fully equipted kitchen with a dinig table and a big living room with TV and Radio. We also had a nice small terrace, but there was a thunderstor. My wife and I had an excellent four night stay at Le Manoir des Deux Amants. The accommodation, a 1 bed apartment, was first class - clean, roomy and comfortable. The reception staff, all of whom spoke English, were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. All in all, this is an excellent, secluded location for a relaxing break and an ideal base for exploring Normandy. Great value for money - highly recommended. Looking forward to our next opportunity to visit. Excellent, well thought out accommodation with everything you need for your arrival, but option to purchase any little items you may have forgotten. The pool hours, like most European hotels we've come across, are not very accommodating to a full day of sight-seeing. The open late in the morning and close semi-early at night. It is hard to find without a gps!. Not a complaint, just a note that you definitely need transport to see sights etc. as it is very secluded. The pools closed already at 8 p.m. Although I had printed the directions via google map, we had a hard time finding the place as Connelles does not appear on any of the panel near the highway. Fortunately, people to whom we ask our way were very kind and helpful. As one knows, it's easy: Saint-Pierre de Vauvray, Andé, Herqueville et Connelles. Actually, it is a good feeling afterwards once you are able to go around easily. The smell in the games room, it was a bit musty. Also in the games room we thought it could do with some simple rearrangement of the furniture to make it more appealing as well. Although we guess it's set up for different activities, and then left to be like this all the time. Maybe a library or some magazines would help to make it more appealing for the use of the room. No cost-effective catering on site or in strolling distance. Poor shower facility above bath. (Nb. House martins nesting in the gable roof of the balcony are delightful and charming - but their considerable droppings are not!!). This place is very hard to find. We got lost every night trying to find our way back from the main highway. It would really help if the front desk had a map for their guests. Also, the washing machine was broken in our apartment and they didn't let us know about it. This resulted in a load of very wet clothes and us having to mop up water from the kitchen floor. It was difficult to find even for my map savey husband. Could have done with help carrying case upstairs as no lift. Nothing. nothing. Cold inside, despite all heating at max power and a merely 0 deg celsius, it was warm in the bathroom, i would've slept in there but couldn't get the couch in. Poor communication: booked a double bed, changed plans, asked for a twin bed by mail, no answer, got a double bed, of course, but that wasn't such a big deal, got a comfortable reclinable couch in the living area, so we slept well. No airconditioning. The apartment(201) next to swimming pool has very strong disinfection smell. Assortment in the lobby bar could be wider. Lack of restaurants within walking distance or on site. No bar, no restaurant, no breakfast room. The sofa was not very comfortble, no kettle in the room. Nothing in particular. One of our rooms had been refurbished and was great. The other was awaiting refurbishment and looked a little tired. But overall really good value. Apart from the sofa which was very uncomfortable. Being asked to pay 7.00 Euros a day for WiFi. Wi Fi should be included in the price in this day and age in my view. Cobweb in bedroom. Had to pay 7 euros per 24hr for wifi. Washing machine did not work and delayed our departure by an hour. Maintenance person knew of the issue but had not communicated this to management. Manager very helpful but it really put us under time pressure later on in the day. would have liked a bar on site could not get breakfest. Nothing!. Decor is somewhat dated. No restaurant at the hotel, but we knew that before arriving & staff were very helpful suggesting local eating places. Only one expensive restaurant walkable from the apartment A little isolated. Noisy pool next door, very noisy children above made a racket till late and got up noisily early next morning too. So sleeping difficult. No dining facilities available. Dirty balcony. Could do with a good restuarant on site as we had to use car again (after several hours driving) to get to a restuarant for our evening meal. There is a restuarant next door but it is extremely expensive!. No complaints. Nothing.
