  When we arrived the welcome from the bubbly receptionist was so good. The waitress in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful; she never stopped smiling and worked hard to make our meals memorable. The chambermaids were exceptional as well. The hotel is out of town, up a hill, but an easy walk and in a quiet location compared to the town. It ... what people say » has a large car park which is a bonus. We had a balcony with a view over the creek. - Comfortable sized, clean bedroom. Friendly and helpful staff, particularly those in the restaurant who went out of their way to converse with those guests who were alone. The standard of cuisine and presentation in the restaurant was superb. Free parking on site was a bonus as parking spaces in town are like gold dust.

  This is a hotel with some history. We particularly liked it's location right in the old town by the quayside. We also liked it's historical artistic connections & the huge number of original paintings sculptures and artworks on display on all floors of the hotel including the bar. The staff, both reception, bar & restaurant were friendly & helpful. - Character filled hotel with walls lined with paintings. The room we had wasn't large but had charm. Thoroughly enjoyed our three nights in the hotel. Great rooftop views from the top floor. Fabulous location. For free car parking go to the street in front of the railway station. It's a longish drag with the suitcases but a safe place to leave the vehicle.
