The staff were very welcoming. They were extremely helpful, even booking a table at one of the restaurants in the Old Town for us. The location is brilliant - head up the hill for a short walk to the Old Town and down the hill the same distance to the town centre. The sitting room came in handy as we were limited to driving anywhere because of the snow. The view of the snow covered mountains from our room, the sitting room and dining room was a real treat. The breakfast was enjoyable - a typica.
all reviews » We were very much impressed by friendly atmosphere of the hotel , of its owners of young family. They were always ready to meet our needs, though my French is rather poor and their English was not that good, but we could understand each other inspite of it. Very attentive people. I would recommend to anyone this hotel, who wants to visit Briancon. Good Breakfast as well . very good coffee made by machine. Cleaning was done every day, and towels were changed every day. Subject to cleaning it is . Very friendly personnel, hotel rooms simple but always clean with all amenities, appropriately priced, simple but sufficient breakfast with good quality coffee, conveniently placed just 5 minutes walk from the castle entrance, our room had excellent view to the ski slopes just opposite, the breakfast building holds a lot of character, free and good wi-fi connection in the room. Greg the owner and his wife were excellent and very helpful. The building has a lot of character and the room was fully refreshed and cleaned daily which I didn't expect. When we had the biggest snowfall of the year and I got stuck in briancon for an extra day, their help was much appreciated. Everything we needed was there. Helpful staff, good facilities, good basic, clean accommodation and breakfast if you wanted it. Great location, close to old town and city center, nice staff, bike room in the cellar, breakfast with nespresso machines. Half way up the hill between plenty of restaurants at the top and bottom. This basic ,no frills accomodation halfway between centre ville had the old walled city of Briancon. Some parking on site. Parking , Wifi . There are no negative experiences to mention. Can not name a thing. No elevator, the rooms design is a bit outdated, in general the rooms' building would need a generous refreshment and when that happens this Hotel will become a jewel since it's hosted in an old and stylish building, we could sometimes hear our neighbours' discussions. None of the above, though, disturbed crucially our stay there. I would still recommend it. Fire alarm went off a couple of times in the early morning, but that was a minor disruption. Nothing really negative about Eidelweiss. A bit noisy in the early morning hours due to traffic, very narrow parking slots without an indication about alternative parking. Nothing. No computer for guest to use. We had been walking the GR5 and therefore had no laptop or tablet. Parking space was restrictive. The room was very sparsely furnished. It is close to the old cit but it is an uphill climb. It was very noisy at night due to passing traffic. We had to sleep with the window open because of the heat. not a lot. Bathroom door was a sliding door which didn't fit. To get to the bedrooms you had to walk through the breakfast room which was ok in the evening. Old hotel between old and new town . No restaurant nearby . Room 101 . Dark bathroom . Simple breakfast . No lift . Toilet seat moving . Simple breakfast . My room was at the back and faced the communal rubbish bins. People dropping off rubbish late at night. Rooms at front probably nice. Staff smoking at entrance a little off putting.
