L'Hôtel Particulier was a great place to stay in Bordeaux. It is located right near the Cathedral in the old quarter, extremely close to restaurants and shopping. Public transportation from the train station and the airport are within walking distances. The facilities are ideal for an extended stay, with a kitchenette and sitting area. It was great, and I would definately return. Lovely hotel - mixing old world with modern (nouveau art) - very attractively done. Very large, well appointed room with a large sized bathroom and shower. Huge windows which had a peek-a-boo view of the cathedral. Although breakfast was extra, it was well worth it. Staff was very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Certainly had all the extra touches for the price.
all reviews » The hotel was absolutely charming. It was thoroughly relaxing which is what we needed. The staff were there if we needed them but it felt as though we were the only guests. The suite was charmingly designed with many of the original design features remaining. It was very comfortable and had touches of luxury. A 'little gem' which we will certainly visit again. Wonderful gem right in the heart of the city. We stayed in the Debussy suite so that we could accommodate our young children and elderly grandmother in one place. It was fabulous, full of character and French charm. There is an atmospheric courtyard to relax in and a healthy breakfast available cooked by the waiter in the room opposite. Magnifique!. Thomas (co-owner) was very helpful and so were his staff. I’d definitely recommend L’ Hotel Particulier for anyone who visits Bordeaux. I liked the location a lot. It is close to everything in the city, shopping, groceries, tram, restaurants. It is in a traditional Bordeaux building. As soon as we walked through the entry door, I felt like we walked into a different world. They use the space very well. The lady at the front desk very nice and helpful. This hotel is a good choice for anyone visiting Bordeaux that is looking for good, clean accommodation with some nice touches without being too luxurious or pricey. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, with excellent English. The location of the hotel is very good, just two minutes' walk from the tram station. Connecting to it required entering a lot of personal information, and the connection often went down, sometimes for long periods of time. Nothing. Nothing!. Nothing really. 1 Slight noise from nearby tramway. 2 Having to leave!. Nothing. First, be aware there is no air conditioning which could be a big problem in summer. The windows are double glass and block the considerable noise of the street below but with them open at night the noise would be a serhious problem. Finally there is no restaurant so be prepared to eat out. The apartments have wooden floor boards so there was a lot of noise from people moving about above us. The apartment was huge so in a way was excellent value for money however for 180 euros including travel cot I would have expected a few toiletries other than one bar of soap and shower gel that was stuck on the wall. The breakfast was copious and very good but I thought it was a little too expensive at 12€ (that seems a lot to spend on breakfast to me)....there didn't seem to be an alternative price if you just wanted a piece of toast and a coffee. But it was very good having said that!. Nothing. Shower over the bath wasn't ideal. Also I thought the coffee machine was in the room but it was right outside so it wasn't an issue. However the hotel only gave two coffee pods and then wanted to charge a euro for each additional one which was a bit cheap. Cleanliness wasn't ideal either. Nothing. No faults. no valet parking not too fast Internet. No bar (but you are in the middle of bordeaux) so you can walk out of your door to find one!. Little not to like. Nothing. Nothing. Crazy WiFi set up. Nothing to dislike!. That our stay wasn't longer. Unfortunately due to location parking was not 'on-site' but closest parking facilities was a short walk away. So not the end of the world. No Shower other than hand-held standing in a bath. Not enjoyable nor effective. Nothing!. Room a bit cold. Ground floor studio can hear noise from upstairs room. Expensive. We didn't dislike anything!.
