Friendly staff, over and above the normal hospitality you would expect in a larger French city. The receptionist was exuding enthusiam and our bartender Frank was so kind. The evening receptionist was fabulous helping us find a good place to eat dinner. The room was tastefully decorated, tidy and the AC and bathroom all worked well. The wifi was no problem at all- we connected easily and it was fast. The pool was a clean, quiet sanctuary, despite being located in the middle of the city. .
all reviews » Our view of the Van Gogh Cafe from our window. The air-conditioning. Fabulous little pool in beautiful setting with no plastic sunbeds! Ability to take breakfast at the poolside. Wonderful serene bar. Free wiFi. The ability to eat outside in the square at one of numerous little restaurants and then retire to our room within minutes. Madame was so helpful - nothing was a problem to her. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel du Forum. The staff is extremely helpful, and we came to rely on them to make all of our dinner reservations, given their excellent recommendations. Our room was very comfy and spacious, with a lovely view overlooking the pool. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Arles, and can't wait to go back!. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough. It has character, history, simple yet comfortable rooms, a beautiful affordable hotelbar, nice staff, and a great location. It could very well be more lucrative as tourist trap I imagine, yet it is not. It is a hotel as hotels should be. A home away from home. We will be back someday... The hotel is perfectly located in the center of the town and within walkable distance from the train station, about 10-15 min. Our room was facing the pool, hence it was very quiet and we had a nice view of the rooftops and hotel courtyard. our room and bathroom were also quite spatious. We felt very at home in this hotel. Breakfast was a bit expensive. Morning recptionist/ staff were brisk and a bit aloof, but professional and very efficient so not really a problem. Window didn't open fully. The hotel can be difficult to find, even with directions, but we'll worth the effort. The only thing I can think of is that the hotel has a nice litttle pool which didn't open until end of may, as we were there early may on a hot day. Early check out - at 11. Finding an open parking area was a challenge. Quite a hike to the hotel. As hotel is on a lively square with lots of bars/restaurants ask for room that is not at the front if you are a light sleeper. No wifi is a negative point. A little bit "bright nights" in the room, but wonderful (nothing, but white:). We were okay with it but older people might struggle with the elevation from the floor. Some rooms look out on drab walls. Nothing. Auto access when departing was a little difficult because of other cars in the Plaza du Forum. I did not use their garage since I picked up a rental car on my last day. I think that a small happy hour on occasion might be a way to meet fellow travelers. Difficult to drive to, but can be done!. Nothing!. No tea or coffee making facility. It would be nice to have them for the guests during the day either in the lobby or in room. Nothing apart from finding our way to the hotel in a car, but that is not the hotel's fault, it's an old town. Nothing. The walls are very thin and the hotel can be noisy making it hard to sleep. Room could have used a bit of work, barebones. None. We have had better breakfasts. Décor was a little tired. Room was sparsely furnished. Needs a refresh. Parking a bit of a pain but that was the same with all hotls in the city centre. parking a major problem and the breakfast very poor. Some of the reception staff were not as helpful as you would expect.
