Built entirely of snow every year, Winter Village offers igloo accommodation, 20 metres from Lake Rukajärvi and 10 minutes’ drive from central Ruka. Traditional Lappish cuisine is served on site. Reindeer skins and sleeping bags are featured in each Ruka Safaris – Winter Village igloo. Bathroom facilities are shared. Guests can enjoy a film on the Northern Lights at the property’s outdoor theatre. Bookable facilities include a variety of saunas and an outdoor hot tub. Sauna yoga, as well as husky and snowmobile safaris are arranged on site. Kuusamo is 20 minutes’ drive away. Staff can help organise an airport shuttle from Kuusamo Airport, 23 km from the property.
