I was there last week (May 2009) and the hotel was great. The room was basic, but large with a huge balcony. The food at the buffet was excellent, and to the person saying you couldn't get lunch there, you're wrong, the lunch was served int eh Dolce Vita restraunt next to the pool. The hotel is new and so clean and tastefully decorated, its like a deluxe apartment with everything you could need. It was very quiet and some days we were the only couple round the pool - but this is great especially if you just want to relax like we did. The hotel itself was comfortable and well situated. Rooms were quite spacious equiped with TV set and balcony with the view on pool and the garden. The bathroom was clean and had a hairdryer which comes in handy especially for women. King Tut has a direct access to the beach, just 2 minutes of walking down the garden.
