Charming location, close to all major sights yet hidden from the traffic noise. We were nicely surprised there was a market with fresh fruits and local products on the square outside the hotel in the morning. I would recommend to all people who love history and are romantic at heart. You will like this place. One of the pros is a pleasant breakfast with a nice view to the square for a very reasonable price of eur 5 per person. Very helpful concierge and working internet connection so also suita.
all reviews » Great location on the Market Square in the pedestrianised centre but close to public transport. Our room looked out over the market square but the secondary glazing meant we could not hear a thing. The hotel was converted from a bank a year ago and the comfortable rooms, bathrooms and public areas have been renovated beautifully in Art Deco style. Breafast was great with a buffet but also cooked food to order. We had fluffy scambled eggs and smoked salmon, the latter covering the eggs in a pa. We wanted to stay in a bit more upscale hotel after traveling for several months and this was an excellent choice. Lovely room with small balcony over looking the main square. The resteraunt in the hotel was not your typical hotel fare. It was excellent. It was great to walk out your front door into the main square. Brno was different from the other old towns we had been in recently. The new and the old were mixed together and it was quiet lively. This is an old bank which is located on the Market square. It has been beautiful renovated. Brno has a lovely city centre to walk around and is away from the crowds of Prague. The market has some fantastic local produce which not only looks good but tastes good too. A great place to stay if you are visiting the Villa Tugendhat. If you are visiting the villa you must booked up well in advance as they only allow 12 people at a time around the villa. What a fantastic hotel. It is quite grand inside having only been opened fairly recently. Our room was quite large and we had a view over the church and market but didn't notice any noise due to the double glazing. We walked from the station over the cobblestones. The staff were very helpful and looked up train timetable and printed it out for us. Breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again. Beautiful place. The building is an old gorgeous Brno site and the inside is all new and so nicely done. The breakfast was amazing - especially for the price. And there is not a better location than this. Right in the center of things, but quiet. The staff spoke English and were helpful in answering questions. There is an info place nearby - get a map as Brno is confusing for transportation. Hotel Grandezza is a highly stylish hotel in a beautiful building from the beginning of 20th century. Thanks to very sensitive reconstruction and amazing service the place has preserved its unique atmosphere. On top of that, the hotel is located right in downtown on Zelný trh, the square with special spirit of regular markets and popular avant-garde theatre Husa na Provázku. The room was very spacious and quiet. We even had a balcony. Everything is brand new and the art nouveau interiors were thought through. The staff at reception was extremely helpful and friendly, room service is working well. I forgot my book in the room and the staff shipped it to me. Many thanks, I can recommend this place. Excellent room with very firm bed, free minibar (beer, water, juice). Great bathroom and shower and bath. No bidet. The largest flat screen tv I have ever seen in a hotel room. Superb restaurant in the hotel with just about the best breakfast I have ever seen. Stayed here two weeks for work--will do so again next year. The hotel itself was lovely - our room was very comfortable and a good size. The free drinks in the minibar were a nice touch and we were impressed that they were replaced overnight. Although the breakfast buffet was an extra 5 euros per person, it offered a wide range and we thought it was good value. The room was very modern and nicely appointed. The cafe downstairs had very good food and coffee, and the staff were very warm with better English. Also, this hotel had more than BBC news in English, so that was a nice change. Equally good as the first visit here, only challenge is to drive in here, a lot of one way streets. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed and somewhat didappointed by Brno itself, which may have skewed our view a little! Unless you're there for business, or to explore the surrounding countryside, we didn't feel there was a great deal to do! Also, while this may just have been the weekend we were there, the 'famous' Zelny Trh where the hotel is situated was basically just a car park!. The bed was extremely hard. Also, the windows, though they seemed insulated, could not screen the noise of the parading hare krishnas two floors below. Also, the restaurant served food that might appeal to other Czechs, but had many wild meats and organ meats which many Americans do not appreciate. I tried in vain to find something traditionally Italian and without organ meat, rabbit, or pate. Only difficulty is the web of one ways arriving to the hotel. But if you have a sat nav or arrive by taxi, there is nothing bad to say about the hotel. nothing...perfect. Staff were abrupt. No bar. No tea coffee making facilities in the room. Would stay again but take travel kettle. Bed was a little hard. Lobby could be more busy... Not a big issue but the staff who served breakfast were too loud and somehow didn't go with well presented hotel. The booking was made through bookings.com for one junior siute for a maximum of two adults. We were actually charged an extra fee on departure for the second person. There is a troll site called "Gradnezza" that may be logged onto by mistake. I recommend that staff alert clients on check-in about this site. Well there is always something you can find that you don't like, but in this case it just isn't worth mentioning it. Bath without any shower curtain or screen make live very difficult and flooding all bathroom daily. BBC TV reception not very good. Noice from the church's bells during night. Driving to the hotel was bit tricky, my navigator tried to guide me agains the one way lanes etc., so be patient :) After you arrive, everything is perfect!. Given that we had one of th best rooms, the bath/shower arrangement was very poor. Breakfast not up to the standard that you would expect from such a lovely hotel - we ate out!. The presentation of the food for breakfast and service at the breakfast...it slightly killed the beautiful environment and the good and tasty food. This might sound hilarious, but the biggest problem were small in size and limited amount of breakfast plates, which is funny but after eating poached eggs try to eat a piece of cake on it :). Breakfast buffet selection could be broader, clock tower (with chimes) in close proximity, some furniture is about to be replaced. Shower in room was super low, almost impossible to stand under. paying for parking. If you don't have theyr Money the exchange rate is very bad in the restaurant. niets. Nothing. breakfast could have more variety.
