Stayed at this delightful, small, city hotel for one night at the end of our 2 week tour around Croatia. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bathrooms were very large with soft towels. Beds were very comfortable. Continental buffet breakfast (included in room price) was excellent with several cold meats, cheeses and pastries as well as the usual cereal, fruit, yogurt etc. Staff were friendly and very helpful, recommending three restaurants to eat. all reviews » This fairly new, family owned hotel offers guests a friendly, welcoming visit to Zagreb. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet and adequate size. The shower is nice and hot! The breakfast is good with choice of cereals, fresh fruits, yoghurts, meats, boiled eggs, cheeses, bread, juices and coffee. The hotel is in a good location and within easy walking to the trams or to the main square. An added bonus was the hotel's receptionist, Madelyn, who speaks perfect English, and was able to assist . Absolutely one of the nicest surprises of our trip. We have stayed in hotel croatia as a group of 3 friends and business associates and we have been travelling for 11 days and changed 10 hotels and this is the nicest one by far. Excellent location, quiet neighb., Superb, modern rooms with wonderful, near to luxurious bathrooms, personal safe boxes, many thoughtful details, secured parking, friendly staff and fantastic breakfast. As it is only a small building the reception area is a bit cramped but my room was very spacious and I particularly liked the roomy bathroom.The hotel is in a good location about a ten-minute walk to one of Zagreb's main streets where you can get a tram. If you are feeling energetic you can walk to central Zagreb in about half an hour. This is my second time to stay in Hotel Croatia during the trip. The interior is well furnished and very clean. There is a good small restaurant called Olivia serving hamburgers and pizzas nearby. The breakfast is simple but good considering the cost. Our room was a decent size with lots of closet space and a modern bathroom. The included breakfast was good. The best thing for us was the location just two blocks from the tram stop. The only thing that startled me at first was the blinkinking fire alarm on the ceiling over the bed - I didn't expect anything flashing in the darkness after the lights were switched off. But the bed itself was wonderful and nothing could keep me from falling asleep in a few minutes. The television was too small for the size of the room and there were no English language channels. I appreciate that English is not the first language in Croatia but it would been nice to watch a documentary or sports programme whilst relaxing in my room for an hour or two after a day in town. There was no tea-making facility either. The receptionist also helps you in the breakfast, if she is busy upstairs, there is a gap. Maybe needs cable tv. The wifi did not always work in our room even though we followed instructions. In spite of the fact staff was very helpful, most of them had problems understanding English. Our room did not have a bath which we would have preferred , but others did have one. Nothing!. it's a bit pricy, the breakfast room it's quite small and there aren't a lot of options. A very minor negative was that the breakfast supplied while adequate did not offer any hot food as shown on menu. Nothing. Nothing. Но это мелочи.. It was not possible to buy a Zagreb city card from this hotel, like it is from some other hotels. There was no hot water or tea at the breakfast unless you ordered it from the staff. 20 min walk to the very centre of the city. The heating was off, but the air conditioning was not on. opening the window for fresh air made our room noisy.
