Nestled on peak of Dongling Mountain, Dongling Resort overlooks the beautiful Yangshuo County, the Li River and Karst Peaks. The couple that manned the desk are very friendly and accommodating. They helped coordinate our adventures on the Li River, taxis, and provided great information for a great time on the Yangshuo town. The location and atmosphere are absolutely perfect and we wish we could have afforded the time to remain a couple more days to just chill out enjoy this little paradise. Some reviewers have commented about the inconvenience of having to take a taxi to town as this resort is 4 km up on the hill.

Nous avons vraiment apprecie le fait de pouvoir sortir un peu de la ville pour se retrouver dans ce havre de paix. Le cadre est luxuriant, plein de charme et la vue sur la baie et les montagnes est juste a couper le souffle. La chambre etait simple mais tres bien equipee (wifi, TV, lit confortable..) De plus, la manageuse parle anglais et nous a organise une excursion g. Yangshuo is a quite busy and noisy tourist city, so it was nice to live a bit outside the city where it is nice and quiet in the evening. The hotel is nice and clean. The staff was helpful, and the hotel is still close to all the attractions and a 10 min taxi ride from the city center. The view from the hotel is epic. Next time i am in Yangshuo, i will for sure live here again. The view and the quietness and isolation is magnificent if that is what you want when visiting Yangshuo. The owner particularly is very friendly and helpful, with advice etc, and speaks good English. The rooms are OK, not luxury but clean, functional and everything worked. We all had a really lovely time. The view over the river and mountains is spectacular. Jan and Anita were very kind and helpful. We had lovely meals in most nights and great breakfasts. The last night we enjoyed a meal with all the family. The view is wonderfull. Nothing to not like unless you absolutely must require the Ritz. It is isolated from town (30 rmb to book a taxi - but harder to get back), and whilst the patio room has magnificent views from the patio, the units are spread out through the garden area and the patio doors were a little insecure. Whilst bikes are available for hire the hill (back) up to the resort was a little daunting!. I missed a swimming pool window wouldn't close. Too far away from town especially in Golden week when the taxi drivers put their fairs up from 30rmb to 60 rmb to get back to the hotel. (Something to factor in when you are working out prices) Even the bamboo raft guys would not take us across unless we paid double what we had at the beginning of the week. Food at the hotel was fairly bland and only offered Chinese dishes, which is okay if you are only staying for a few days, but got boring after that. breakfast was a bit limited in choice. restaurant is notfriendly -too simple. Nothing. A bit neglected, needs updating. No safe, no fridge, no wardrobe no comfort in the actual room. Dirty water cooler. Charged for a deluxe room and got a standard room due to problems with the water systems. Too far and taxi too expensive in relation with the hotel so no choice! Nothing to do in hotel.
