We stayed in Yiyang Hotel from august 5th till august 13th and actually chose one coz of comments below, thanks guys! We decided to stay in a budget hotel coz living in China we perfectly know a local servise and the way chinese stuff works. Really advice you to think twice when you take a fancy hotel in China even with an international name, do not expect a lot! TheYiyang hotel surprised a lot: first- it was clean, room was tidy, all the requered facilities presented, you can get an hairdryer .
all reviews » Arrived here with little knowledge about the place. Only based upon the reviews that I intended to stay here. As a solo traveller this place was great. Location was superb and the staff were very friendly. A smile every morning. John the hotel owner I cannot thank enough. English was good and advised of the best place to go in Sanya. A really great 4 days and can recommend any solo traveller to this place. Very good hotel! Situated in downtown, and it's very simple to get to any part of the city by bus. John is very helpful! He asked to girls at the reception desk to write chinese characters for me to show to bus drivers, at the mobile center and so on. I had a very big room, they do cleaning every day. A lot of cafes with very cheap and tasty food are situated near the hotel. Best value for money. The rooms are really clean. Very good staff, the owner is the best guy I have met in Sanya. He speaks fluently english and is really helpfull. You can find around the Hotel lot of domestic shops and Restaurants. I recommend to eat at Moslem Restaurant just in front of the Hotel. The beach is less than 1 minute far by foot. The stuff was really friendly and helpful. The owner speaks good English. He is always available (at least by phone) and ready to help with any issue. There are plenty of small restaurants near the hotel. You can easily reach any destination in the city from here. Definitely looks and feels more expensive than you pay. Great choice for the young travelers! Ideal position of the hotel in the Sanya centre and it's prices makes this hotel a perfect low budget variant. Hotel owner is a good man, with a great english skills, a very responsive person, I'm still very impressed with his directions to the local places of interest. Great clean hotel with big rooms in 100 m distance to city beach. The manager is extremely helpful and really nice (speak fluent English). The buses stops 10 m from the hotel. 5 min by foot to the center of Sanya. Ac in room. Value for money is grat - the best on our 3 weeks trip. The staff is very friendly, helpful and honest. The manager John speaks good English and tries his best to help with anything you may request. They can arrange day trips and tours around Sanya with trusty local agencies at good price. Do not expect WiFi in a room, only in a lobby, but u can ask for a wire. P.S plz, Jonh, fix it!. I did not have an issue with it but some may. The noise is quite loud as its located in the busy area. Also wifi is not in the rooms. Only a LAN connection. Nothing negative. The girls at the reception desk don't speak English, but almost nobody in Sanya speaks English, and they could call John, so it's not a big problem. Be careful, some of shops try to cheat you. No elevator, no Wi-fi in the room. It is center, so expect noise from the street. The lack of elevator. Only cable internet in rooms (cable available in reception). Other stuff doesn't speak English (but they are also nice and communicative, if needed they call manager to translate :). The matress was really not comfortable. There was no elevator. Ethernet cable didn't work. - the street is a little bit noisy. Our room was on the 5th floor with no elevator. Internet not working in the room, only in the living room so it is not really convenient if u bring your computer or you want to use internet often. There's no elevator so it is not comfortable for older people. .
