  When we arrived in Pingyao, we were met at the train station by a tuck tuck driver, who ferried us to the hotel in authentic Chinese fashion. Sunny was there to greet us at the hotel entrance when we arrived. She and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and polite, and spoke English quite well. The hotel is on a side street, not 5 minutes fr - It was quite breathtaking-our room was 300 years old! Australia is not that old! The necessary amenities were so inconspicuously added, the overall charm and antiquity of the room was not altered at all. It was so warm and the heaters dried the clothes. I could go one forever, just go there, you will not regret your stay. And a traditional klang to sleep on! and pillows stuffed with wheat husks, a unique experience and comfy too.

  We had a great stay, the rooms are fantastic! The owner does not speak English, but he does everything he can to make you feel at home. Also gave us a map. The location is great, outside of the main touristarea but still in the ancient city. The beds are not the softest, but where are they in China. The bathroom + room are clean. WiFi works good. ... what people say » Would have liked to stay here longer, but two days/nights in pingyao is more than enough. Ps. Eat at De yu juan (south street) and big bowl noodles (n - Our room was decorated in the old chinese arquitecture including own bathroom, television and nice, big bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If it was necessary to translate into English, they had the possibility to contact someone for translation. In total, it was a great stay in the hotel and we would come back anytime if possible.

  We loved the beautiful courtyard of this traditional home, the room was beautifully set up with a HUGE traditional bed, nice detailing in dark timber. We also found the staff to be very freindly and helpful. They let us check in early when we arrived from an overnight train and then on the day they left we were allowed to use the room until 9 at n... what people say » ight for no extra charge, as it had not been booked by anyone else (it is low season at the moment). They also kindly gave us a lift to the train stat - Since it was a low season, we were upgraded to a much bigger room without any additional charge. We were shown the smaller room that we ordered and we think it is also comfortable. The staffs were friendly but there is only one person who can speak English but it will not be a problem since he is there most of the time. The street around this hotel is a bit dark at night since it was a low season so not many tourists went there. At the night we arrived and we were looking for something to eat,

  Overall, this is our favourite hotel of all time. The service provided by the staff was of the highest quality we have ever experienced. While English was not fluent, the staff were armed with smart phones (and free wifi) for efficient translation and were more than happy to facilitate booking tickets, organising tour guides and hiring bikes. The family atmosphere was - Tian Yi was a beautiful little Boutique Guest House full of chinese decor and culture. Our room was small but so different to anything I had ever stayed in before anywhere that it didnt matter. We really enjoyed our stay there. Once we were able to communicate (through ITranslate app on iphone) the staff were very helpful and we had no problem at all, when we needed to book trains for onward journey's the drove us to the train station and waited over an hour for us as we had so much trouble try

  Very helpful and friendly owner of this hotel. No problem to arrange the way to Taiyuan airport. The stay was very pleasant with the possibility to stay outside the room in the inner yard. Room was small but everything want you need is there.   The Hostel provides a great location at value for money. While the staff are not overly engaging they provided great service and support especially with onward bound train and bus bookings. - It was basic but more than adequate for my needs as a backpacker. The communal room was good and better than a lot of hostels in China that I visited.
