The staff were attentive and the room service was prompt and the food good. The location is very central and there are lots of western shops and places to eat including the inevitable Starbucks and McDonalds. The room was large and very clean and the bathroom was excellent and very large which for a business hotel is unusual. I have stayed in this hotel 3 times now in the last 18 months, all on business and each time the rooms have been of the same high standard, I get the feeling this is a ho.
all reviews » Excellent welcome, the moment I stepped into the lobby I was greeted warmly and the check-in went very smoothly. I made a reservation for an Executive Room and when checking in I was offered a cheap upgrade to the Executive Club Floor. Excellent value for money, fantastic breakfast... Also really enjoyed the Club experience! Complimentary drinks and snacks in the late afternoon was a real treat! Been in GZ many times and this was the best hotel I stayed in so far. The hotel was very helpful in transelating to the taxi drivers and also finding locations for shopping. it is close to arabic resturants and halal food. very clean and respectful. maybe it is not the closest to arabic area but i will prefer to stay in it again if i visited guanzhou again. Excellent hotel, English speaking lovely and welcoming staff, beautiful large rooms and stunning bathrooms. Breakfast was superb with lots of choices of Chinese, Japanese, us, European food, even offered an Indian dish! Fresh fruits and freshly squeezed fruit and veggie juice. every thing in this hotel was great, very comfortable bed, clean good size room, very nice breakfast, well trained staff, good selection of english tv channels, very fast free wifi, i would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone as its worth every penny. poaition. resteraunts close by were good. They had an Canadian service manager, who was extremely helpful for us and other English speaking clients in town for the canton fair. The price I paid was very high for a hotel in China however the reason I was there was there is a very well attended trade show on and companies from all over the world visit so hotels charge a premium. I would expect prices during other times to be more in line with what you would expect to pay. Nothing except I didn't receive a daily newspaper though it was included in my room rate and I had to call housekeeping a couple of times to get a laundry bag because the cleaning lady forgot to put a new one... The only thing that we did not like is the food (room service food) from the hotel main restaurant. Quite tasteless and pricy for what it is. spa was bit disappointing, bathroom shower had no pressure, but overall hotel was GREAT. Checkout staff distrustful - was reluctant to let me go to the room to collect my bags after I checked out and paid. We asked the hotel for airport transfer and they charged us 600 RMB for a mini-van. I guess the fare is much lower. I bought SIM-card from the hotel. After few days, the sim-cards did not work anymore. and we were not able to re-charge it because they registered them not under our name!. some staff poor in speeking so you make order and you the diffrent one. Within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel, the street is crowded with prostitutes and black men offerring drugs. The banquet service needs improvement, not enough staff. No given late chek out . High price if you not book in Internet. there is nothing worth mentioning. the pool is too small. must have muslim showers in wash rooms. must have proper halal menu in breakfast. nothing much to complain about : it isn't luxury but its definitely good value..... Hard to understand english but its ok. Aircon difficult to adjust. Nothing bad in this hotel. nothings to notes about it ... a small minus for the speed of the internet in the room.but strongly compensated by the vip wi fi in the lobby. internet,and the way it has been advertised. I thought I have free breakfast and mini bar but when i got there it wasnt included. nothing. Nothing. Cleanliness. Price. Weak internet signal in the room, I had to stay in bathroom for strong signal. Wifi, pool. The taxi they ordered for the transport to the airport tried to cheat and charged too much money. Be careful exchanging money!. They gave me 5 ilegal printed notes of 100 yuans!. After 8 years travelling to China 5 times per year doing business, this is first time it ever happens to me in China to get ilegal currency!!. They might have a worker that is introducing ilegal money there!. The rooms are a bit tired. Price of breakfast is too expensive. Pool has no bar to serve drinks. Pool environment is strict.
