Very close to Forbidden city, Behai park,Tiananmen and to the shopping street Wangfujing Dajie. We book a Grand wall, Ming tumbs and Olympic park trip at the hotel that was okay. Breakfast was nice with chef making scramble eggs :) We paid from hotel to airport taxi only 110yuan in the afternoon. Very nice service at the information desk helping with ordering taxi that is cheap. The best value I ever received from a hotel! Clean, comfortable, nice little 'cute' gestures from the staff (cookies every evening at around 18:00 o'clock, morning Enligsh newspaper China Daily to your door, free minibar restocked every day). Nice room, comfortable bed, lots of English / International TV channels, including international movies.

Superb hotel!. The staff were very helpful and always ready to advise and take their time with us. Their English was excellent and even when it was a challenge they were patient and tried their best. We are sorry we don't speak Mandarin. Breakfast was also very good and the whole experience was excellent and great value. We will recommend it. The room is wide, bathroom and shower as well. The persons of the staff managed different requests we did to enjoy our stay. The location for breakfast is wonderful, on top of the hotel roof there is a terrace with view on the roofs of forbidden city buildings. Complimetary items are many and useful. Very nice stay indeed. I m living in Beijing and just need a place to stay with my GF temporarily. It is one of best room I have ever stay in hotel around the world. Free 12 drinks per day is good for value. I think the place is a bit hard to find and need to ask staff to tell us the accurate address. The hotel is extremely close to the Forbidden City. The view from the roof top patio is amazing as it overlooks the Forbidden City. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They are very modern. A very different well appointed boutique hotel in an extremely large city. Design of social areas and bedrooms is very nice; very central location; confortable bed and pillows; nice rooftop bar with views of the forbiden wall roofs; the complimentary minibar is a nice touch. Beautiful room and bathroom. Excellent restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Get a better description from the Hotel in Chinese so taxi driver find it from airport. Improvement on the english language for the staff would help a lot :). As usual in China, poor English. To their defence, still, 2 of the staff at reception had decent English skills and they managed to solve all our requests. The only thing that didn't seem to work so well was check-in. Because there was a number of people waiting in the reception when we arrived and only 1 person at the small desk in the centre it was difficult for us to know what was going on as no-one available to greet us and explain and there was no obvious queue system. Oh, and the floor boards in our room were very noisy. Location is a bit far from Beijing Metro. It miss a lift take care if you carry heavy laggage. One of the staff which in the corner cook egg is always in bad emotion. not willing to serve. Need more salary?. While not a fault of the hotel, Taxis are very corrupt. They would not ever use the meter and charged up to five times the legal rate. We could hear the neighbors next door fighting, making love, talking, drunk. Every night we could hear the next room. Also, there was suppose to be no smoking and we could constantly smell cigarettes. It is our view that the Emperor is not a 5 or 4 star hotel , it is in our view a 3 star (maybe 3.5). We have stayed in many hotels around the world (including China). It is certainly overpriced for what it is. There is no lift at the hotel. Although the reception staff are helpful and speak English, the rooftop bar staff are atrocious. they don't understand what you want, even though the drinks are on their menu. they dont even understand when you ask for water. Drinks take an age to arrive. Food is vastly overpriced. They could not make a good bloody mary. Nothing really except the smog. Very poor breakfast for a 5 star hotel; although staff is very nice they are quite ineffective and their english very poor; we booked a room that was advertised as having a view - if you consider that looking at a dirty alley and a hospital from a 1st floor window is having a view than we got it. I didn't like that the spa wasn't open and that was the main reason we booked this hotel. The hotel has now rectified this with a comp upgrade but my wife had not spa facilities. A lot of the staff didn't speak english. Not near a metro station. Booked for 3 nights at the same rate and conditions including breakfast but the hotel tried to charge for breakfast for nights 2 & 3 due to a misunderstanding they had with letsbookhotel.com. Was debited twice on my credit for the bill and am still trying to sort out with the hotel. The hazy weather in Beijing which was no fault of the hotel. Meals here quite expensive I stayed here for my Birthday and was looking forward to Dine here, but we looked at the Menu and was surprised with the cost of meals, we decided to eat elsewhere, the food did look good though well presented. Hotel needs redecorating. Staff with poor English. It is not a 5 star hotel. None. They closed the restaurant for a wedding one evening but did not inform us that the restaurant was not open that night... Little expensive for small room . But it was worth it !. Sound proofing between rooms could have been better but did not detract from a wonderful stay. The hotel is a bit far from the closest metro station. Lime green décor. Restaurant on top floor very expensive. The street the hotel is on is very dark at night. Taxis didnt know where it was. Breakfast was a bit late especially as we had an early excursion, not all the food was available despite being open at 7am which is when we went. Not much really.. The breakfast could have had more variety. The tele is too close to the bed maybe.... But it's fixed design... No elevator. You need to be able to walk as there is no lift in this hotel, and the nearby attractions are about 30 min. walk away. Given the distances in Beijing, a bit further from subway etc than I thought it was. Some of the upholstery in public spaces was a bit dirty. the restaurant on top of the hotel where they also serve breakfast had poor staff. they dont speak english and the food was poor quality. I didn't mind this, but the hotel is not on a busy street so walking at dark might not feel very comfortable. However, it is bordering the Forbidden City walls, so this is a safe area. Please bear in mind the hotel address is a side street and the taxi drivers will not know this small street. Check a map first and give an address (in Chinese) of the adjacent street (running parallel to the East Wall of the Forbidden City). Nothing.
