I loved the location on Cerro Bellavista- amongst all the street art and being away from the main tourist hordes. Mother & daughter combination of Patricia and Sarah are warm, friendly and very helpful with suggestions of things to do etc and even recommended places to visit away from Valparaiso. They also took me on a night tour before I left. What a beautiful city it is. There is no reception as such, but Sarah or Patricia greet guests who have booked and there's a mobile/cell phone ther. all reviews »
The owners are lovely....very welcoming and helpful. English is spoken. My room with twin beds had a lovely typically Valpo view down a steep ravine and over to the next hill...interesting both night and day. I had good sleeps as this area is quieter than some. The hostal is being renovated and will have a nice eating area with a great view. Do it yourself breakfast and the opportunity for cooking your own lunch or dinner.. Espiritu Santo, almost next door, is an excellent restaurant. Try it. .
We loved Valparaiso and this hostel was perfect. Very friendly and helpful. They place is very tidy and comfortable and they provide heaters in the rooms.
Also they suggested we eat at a restaurant close to the hostel called Espiritu Santo, whice was amazing! We also went on a graffiti tour to see all the best of the street art in Valparaiso...very good!.

Patricia was very informative and helpful. I did not see them after the lst day but everything was on hand to facilitate my convenience. Yes, I would recommend this place because I feel very much at home.
Very helpful and welcoming staff who speak multiple languages. We were treated like guests rather than customers. Good location in the hills. Excellent value.
Local atmosphere, very unique and very Valparaiso!!.
The house is a little dark for spending time in, but the ladies have a new project going to renovate and add a big picture window which will open the house up to light tremendously. It may even be finished as I write!.

The road down the hill, a shortcut, was very stinky with smell of alcohol and dog poos all along the road. A bit of tidying up in the neighbourhood would make a lot of difference.
