We left out dog in our hotel room and went for dinner. She managed to get out of the room. Staff was amazing about helping us locate her, which we did. In fact, they went above and beyond their duties. People like this give faith back in the kindness of others. I liked the fact that I started out needing 2 days and ended up needing6 days and there were no problems or room changes.I had a problem with the room safe and the staff responded right away and were very friendly.I enjoyed my visit and will stay here again.
all reviews » Retro motor inn clean, conveniently located within walking distance of so many shops, museums, historic sites and the bay. parking while there was easy. Quiet and good value with attached restaurant. Clean rooms, excellent staff. Quite near downtown. Court yard rooms available, if you would like something a bit nicer. All and all and enjoyable, clean place to lay your head. Professional, efficient and friendly staff at check in/out; clean and comfortable rooms; restaurant in hotel for breakfast and at a reasonable price. We often stay here. The location is good and we like the décor. Bed is great. Traffic is loud but what can you do about that - it's a big city. I was in a courtyard room and that was quite nice. The one wall in the room was wood paneling, that made the room that much better. Location-was able to shop at the Dutch bakery, Running Room, Chapters, CIBC and then catch a city bus to visit parents near UVIC. It was nice and clean and the eggs Benedict were very tasty the next morning.... great for connivence as it is right downtown. It is close to the city center. You can easily walk everywhere. It is clean, quiet, and reasonable in price. It's just a few minutes walk to downtown and 15 mins to Inner Harbour. Professional, friendly staff. Awesome place especially in their courtyard. Location free parking price quiet - garden room was private free and easy to connect to wifi restaurant on premises walking maps at desk quick and easy check-in, check out fridge in room walking distance to downtown and Save-on (went to Jerry Seinfeld). It was very near the arena, where we were going to see the ice-show. Room was small but clean and bed was comfortable. Restaurant waiter was excellent... Location and quiet. Close to town. It's all good. Would have liked an extra coffee pouch for coffee machine in the morning, but that's not a real problem. Old electrical system, I always take my tassimo maker with me, when I made a coffee the lights went dim. Clock hard to use, but most people today have iPads, etc.,so not critical. We were happy with everything. It is a good accomodation for the price. Room could have more power outlets. We didn't stay longer. Nothing. lack of air conditioning; bedroom windows open our onto exterior walkway. Lighting was poor, especially in vanity area. Nothing! It is not Paul's fault that there are some street people around. I know you own Laurel Point!. Missed the microwave. Bill showed complete Mastercard number. The old television, dusty room,. Room out dated but comfortable. Room did not have enough outlets at the bedside for my CPAP machine. Luckily I happened to bring an extension cord but it left a dangerous cord to step over during the night. I also indicated that two adults were occupying the room and thought I requested two beds (which in my past visits I received) but only had one queen in the room and the hotel was booked solid. Even parking was a challenge. rooms not air-conditioned, very humid and stuffy. rooms are outdated, little dingy, didn't smell so fresh clock radio was on top of the tv, didn't see a plug at the bedside table bath towels are small water in shower changes temp. while showering don't offer continental breakfast restaurant was closed in early afternoon. It was a dark, rather dingy room so we opened the curtains to let some light in, and the windows were filthy. On the surface it was clean, but spring cleaning was definitely needed. The restaurant was only open for breakfast. We knew the hotel was an old style place and need of an update but it was located very close to the arena. Biggest complaint was the room was warm even though I had turned temp setting all the way down. All in all being clean and a good bed made the stay good value. Desk clerk had too much attitude. Room furniture older than the hills, double beds - not queen - 'though maybe in other rooms?. Musty smell in room Too expensive for age and condition of space No air conditioner.
