The staff were all nice, friendly and extremely helpful. It was always clean and quiet. I didn't even mind that their wasn't any room service. I liked that their were 4 bus stops right outside and a variety of restaurants and stores. I had read some reviews before going and people made comments like "...outdated tv's..." but when I got to my room I noticed the large flat screens! This made me realize that all the comments were acknowledged. I really liked that the most.
all reviews » Staff were friendly and helpful over the whole 3 night stay, both on the reception desk and in the breakfast room. Price was good and the room was pleasant. Housekeeping staff did a good job and were friendly when we encountered them in the corridors.Several eating places nearby (Pho Don Vietnamese restaurant was the one we used) and a pleasant Starbucks. Very close to the Forum on the PNE Grounds, which was a major factor in deciding to stay here as we were attending an event at the Forum. Breakfast was fine, anyone who complains is very fussy as there were cereals, yougurt, fruit, toast, cinnamon buns, eggs & sausage!. We were concerned at first by the area this hotel was located in but the security was amazing and we felt very safe. The breakfast was very ample and even though we were there only one night, next time we may avail ourselves of the free shuttle to downtown. Outstanding service by front desk and administrative staff. Clean and quiet room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast included and secure, free parking. Great location near the PNE. Would definitely stay here again!. It's a good hotel for the money. However, it's advertised as a downtown hotel, what is not. Still it's budget friendly and only $13 taxi ride from the downtown. It's clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. The staff at the Reception Desk was outstanding, they were very friendly, helpful and informative. Breakfast was great. Quit area close to to food and trans potration, not far from city, 20 minutes bytaxi. It was clean, staff were friendly and only a short bus drive to downtown. We spent here only a night but everything was fine, especially breakfast!!. It was quiet, breakfast was sufficient, wifi, very secure parking. Location was perfect for event at the Pacific Coliseum. We loved Vancouver, but not this hotel. conveniences. That their wasn't an airport shuttle, but I do understand why. They should provide a shuttle from a major downtown location, so people can just shuttle there from the airport and then the hotel can just pick up from that location. Traffic noise was a little intrusive at times and (this is not the hotel's fault but....) parts of the route between Downtown and the hotel are not encouraging, but there is a good bus service that whisks you past it fairly quickly. Not sure why there was no parking right in front to get our luggage out of the car. No in-room fridge. It was not convenient for sightseeing. Gym equipment wasn't well maintained, with 3 pieces of equipment not working correctly. Which is a shame as there were a significant number of people wanting to use the facility. Our room was in a corner, with window facing brick wall. Our friend had a larger room with a balcony but they said it was noisy facing the busy street, so I guess brick wall was quieter. No soap in rooms, had to request. we stayed an unplanned second night and had trouble with heat in the room. we were given our first night room back and had no problems. We had a room on the road side so took awhile to get used to the traffic noise. Laundry could do with another machine. Nothing Would stay again if in town. There is not a fridge. breakfast area bit small, plastic cutlery. 5 km from downtown.. but good bus service. Lots of empty spots at breakfast buffet, but in their defense, we came in just as a large group of teenage boys left. Just one night :(. It's called "Downtown" but is about three miles from it. Hastings is a terrible street for traffic and it took us through a seedy skid-row part of the city when getting to downtown. Breakfast wasn't very good, sausages or something besides bacon would have been awesome. alitle bit far from downtown. Chairs in conference room were rock hard. Neighborhood was transitional. a little far from the downtown. Low ceiling in their underground parking garage. Disorganised breakfast time. The staff tried to charge me for an extra child when both my kids were under 17. The shower head was broken. The sink was separated from the counter which was kind of gross to look at. The door stoppers on the bathroom door was broken - under than that everything else was fine. I can not think of any. not as close to downtown as I'd like but parking was included in room price so ok. Old rooms with stained carpets, was switched room because the chair for the desk had 2 big stains on it. Second room needed an alternate heating unit because the room was so cold(-5 outdoor) Will not go back unless they refurbish rooms. Located in an old part of Vancouver, bad surroundings, no good restaurants close by. not 3 star level, carpet not clean. price not value. The location was not what I would expect from a hotel that was not particularly cheap. The hotel rooms were on need of urgent refurbishment. A very disappointing stay for us. We moved on after 1 night as we were do dissatisfied with the hotel.
