We found a long series of lovely details and atmosphere, which made our stay.... "unforgettable". The restaurant's cuisine is exquisite, with a lovely atmosphere and a gorgeous sea view. Our dog is important for us. Therefore it was important to see the hotel is not only pet friendly, but "pet lover". Beautiful room and ensuite facilities, real luxury feel, bath with picture window. Restaurant (though we did get a window seat, this could not be guaranteed in advance). Information supplied in advance re husband's nut allergy and 50th birthday had been attentively taken account of.
all reviews » The hotel is in amazing location, beautiful beach and forest walks, and purest air fragrant with scent of pines. Rooms are spacious, cozy and comfortable, very nice design. Staff are most welcoming, helpful and friendly. Restaurant food is perfect. the quiet and relaxation and the very friendly and professional staff. we had a great holiday although short. the bed was the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. We had a great time!!!. Location! Easy walk to beach and forest. The staff was outgoing and at all times friendly. Two easy chairs added great comfort to the room. the exceptional ellegant yet very down to earth service in which your staff cateres to guests needs is flawless and unique. The views are amazing! The grounds and building are impeccable and the staff was extremely professional and accomodating. Great location, fine facilities & service, delightful lawn(wind) ornaments, very good spa, weather report useful,. The tranquility of the location, the firendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the relaxing atmosphere offered. To be on the outside on ocean room was ocean view and waves o go to sleep by was perfect the steam cave was great. The room, food and staff were awesome. Building and layout of the room. The Spa was good. The atmosphere and architecture and setting are superb. nice service. I can not mention one thing I did not like. For us this was an expensive treat, I wish I had read more clearly the 'forested view' which in reality meant predominately through and obscured by trees. We did find this a little disappointing. Balcony view was also partly obscured by the restaurant roof......but we did have the restful sound of the sea. Very little not to like. The menu was pricey but, it is a five star hotel. My husband would have liked more beef choices to the menu. The restaurant was just ok. They try too hard to make the meals fabulous and it ends up being too much. The menu would do well with the addition of some "plainer fare" I think. What could be improved: Directions to/for areas breakfast, lunch, lounge. TV listing tiny print and unavailable channels like CBC HD and likely more. Dining Rm menu limited and too fancy, parking spaces very tight for 'normal' cars, poor lighting in the bathroom and shaving light inadequate, more floor bath mats, --- just suggestions. I can't think of anything we didn't like. The menu was a little different and I struggled (not eating fish) with the choice, but there was chicken and a vegeterian dish to choose from. Leaving was worst part. Nothing. Was all perfect. Nothing. the services (concierge, check in/out...) are not up to standard/price of this hotel. The cupboard shelfs missing, had to leave stuff in the luggage. Restaurant is good food but too expensive. No entertainment program for kids at all. Why did I have to pay extra for the spa? For a facility like that one would expect a nice indoor pool. I felt the food portions for the price were very skimpy. I could not have sustained my appetite on their portions and certainly a male with any appetite would have been left hungry. This is unacceptable as presentation seemed everything with no consideration for actually satisfying an appetite. The wine pairings were thoughtfully done and the dining room service excellent. the bed was far too soft the hotel was over heated.
