After booking and receiving confirmation, we finally arrived in the evening hours of July 31, 2013. Initially, we were made aware, that the hotel was fully booked out, but the friendly hotel staff was searching for an alternative for one night. This alternative turned out to be an extraordinary experience in one of the Middle Beach Lodges. We got the most prestigious lodge in that compound, worth 3x the initial cost, at no extra charge. all reviews » The hotel is well located, close to Tofino, but on the park side of it. A handy feature is that the hotel includes boat tours at a discount for whale-watching and to the hot springs, which was advantageously priced for customers. The room itself was more than a room, but really a suite, equipped with a king-sized bed. There was a stove, and a fridge, and a little porch where one could eat. For us, thanks to the excellent rate we got through letsbookhotel.com, the room represented outstanding va. We stayed for 4 nights. The staff was great. There was some little problem with our room when at our arrival and it was solved almost instantly, anyway we got 100 dollar voucher to restaurant as compensation. When we had questions staff was always very helpful. Location was just perfect and room very comfortable. Price for the whole stay was eventually even lower that we expected. If we go to Tofino again there is no other place that we want to stay in!. We loved everything about this place.The rooms were nice and clean, lovely teas and coffee selection, and the staff were incredible from the front desk to the wait and bar staff. We loved the few times especially that we spent at Jacks, we felt like we made new friends from the first time in there! I honestly can not say enough great stuff about the employees. They really made us feel like we were spending a million dollars. We can't wait to return.. The room was clean and had a lot of amenities (pots, cutlery, dishes, etc). The bed was comfortable and they did offer a cotton pillow (as I mentioned I was allergic to feathers). Amazing location, right at seaside with a marina, activities such as kayaking and sightseeing boat tours. I like the location of the Marina West Motel, which is close to the marina and a good restaurant, it is also within walking distance to downtown Tofino. I also like the balcony that has a waterfront view. Overall, it is a nice place to stay. We really like our room with the view and everything that was provided in the room was so nice. We will definitely book again and hope for as nice a room again and the price was reasonable for such a busy time of year. The kitchenette was very good equipped. Every small thing was there.The bed was awesome-huge and comfortable,probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in hotels.Very good balcony with breathtaking view. Lovely selection of teas, hot choc & coffee in rooms. China cups. Comfortable beds and excellent pillows. Good size room. Clean bathroom - all facilities worked properly. Good restaurant and pub on site. I liked the location being close to the stores, restaurants and galleries. It allowed for walking to patronize local establishments. Only needed to drive when going to Chesterman's, Cox Bay or Lobg Beach. The location was awesome. Room was just right for our needs. Had dinner at the restaurant and the food was fantastic. Our waitress, Alex, did a superb job with our large group; she was great. Staff was nice and friendly, good convenient location(walk to shops, short drive to the beaches) beds were comfortable, kitchenett was fully equipped, great value for a nice comfortable room. It was clean and secure and conveniently located. The only minor stuff - when you took a shower it was very easy to flood the whole bathroom and the walls were not 100% sound proof. There was nothing to dislike !!!. The shower head did not have a steady stream and leaked onto the floor. There were rips in the carpet which made it look trashy. The service in the pub was a little slow.. and alittle noisy around 1:00 am for about an our.. other than that no problems... Thank you. Non-comfortable pull out bed in the living room. Small sign on the road saying Marina Motel,so difficult to find. Coffeemate creamer ;) Paying $200 deposit for one night (which had not been explained when booking on line). We didn't stay long enough!. Some of the outlets didn't work .. That was a little inconvenient .. could use a wash booth area for surfboard and wetsuit. It was hard to tell where to check in. The pub was noisy until late on a Monday night. Not a thing. Reception/ office could be more clearly labelled. A clearer and bigger sign at the road side showing Marina West Motel would be helpful for new arrivals. During our stay the printer for the keys was broken down and everytime we want in our room we have to ask at the reception and someone went with us to open the room. But we got compensation for this so at the end it was ok. We got the room at a bargain rate, so it was nicely affordable. I think the regular rate is rather expensive for motel accommodation. Curtains did not fit window properly. No soap bar, just body wash. Need soap to wash hands at basin not body wash. There was a kitchen in the room. A fry pan was available for use, but there was no tongs to use to turn the food over over. Charged my credit card when I told them I would be paying with debit when we checked out, small shower with awful shower head. climbing stairs to our room. Too hot in room. Room smells wet. Rooms were damp, but living on the edge of a rain forest, thats understandable. Beds were also a little uncomfortable. - restaurant/pub's servers - extremely rude at tourists. they prefer dealing with locals. Would have preferred more ocean view. No complaints. poor internet. Poor view from balcony. Paying extra for a balcony suggests one will get a reasonable view over the water. This was not he case. Nothing. internet not working in room. My booking through letsbookhotel.com was not recieved for the last day of my stay. The day I booked it the staff said no problem I could keep the same room (I had to extend my visit a day) and the next day at checkout time they phoned the room and told us check out was at 11. I was not very impressed. room not cleaned well between nights for example coffee pot not cleaned, glasses and cups not refreshed. The door to the room did not always close properly. Menu for dinner was limited in choice. Went elsewhere to get a more varied selection. The bill was confusing and not fully understood by staff. Manager needed to resolve our questions but at the end of the day it did prove accurate. Needs simplifying. Did not make our beds after the first night because we left our pyjamas on the bed suitably folded. Not experienced this idiosyncrasy before!. A number of things were not working: wifi, dresser drawers, TV, room keys.
