  After booking and receiving confirmation, we finally arrived in the evening hours of July 31, 2013. Initially, we were made aware, that the hotel was fully booked out, but the friendly hotel staff was searching for an alternative for one night. This alternative turned out to be an extraordinary experience in one of the Middle Beach Lodges. For the remainder of our stay, the extremely friendly mana - The hotel is well located, close to Tofino, but on the park side of it. A handy feature is that the hotel includes boat tours at a discount for whale-watching and to the hot springs, which was advantageously priced for customers. The room itself was more than a room, but really a suite, equipped with a king-sized bed. There was a stove, and a fridge, and a little porch where one could eat. Did not use the in-room coffee, but free coffee, juice, fruit and muffins available in the office in the morning.   I liked the layout of the room. The room was clean. I liked the bed. It was just right - not too firm, not too soft. I liked that there wasn't an old bedspread on top. I liked the continental breakfast downstairs. I liked how clean the area was and the simple choices. The coffee was really good. The only front staff that was working at that time was extremely friendly and helpful. The 5:30 AM continental breakfast and courtesy shuttle to the airport were much appreciated.

  The rooms were clean in "mostly good repair", as each room seemed to have a repair defect or two. ie: loose tile, loose hinges on window, missing grout on tiles, etc. Nothing major, for an older property. We slept well and paid a low rate.   I like that it was centrally located and close to the hotel my where my fellow travelers were staying. Also I noticed it was on a city bus route plus taxis were located close by. Pool was sufficient to meet the needs of the kids. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker were all clean and functioning. We enjoyed the free wifi and the large flat screen tv. with full cable.   Had a good experience staying here. The location could have been closer to downtown but most of the time it was actually nice to have a place away from the downtown scene once in a while. The room itself wasn't incredibly huge but was clean and had a comfy bed.
