The location was perfect, just 2 short blocks from Queen Street, so close enough to walk, but far enough away from all the activity. It's also across the street from the Niagara River, so it was a very easy walk to the park and there were plenty of benches to view the water and catch the breeze. The Inn was beautiful and relaxing, with waterfalls inside, and fountains and gorgeous flowers outside. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was terrific. The room was spotles.
all reviews » We went during the off season so special discounted rates were in effect. Otherwise we could have never experienced such a luxurious inn! The decor was beautiful, the staff was eager to make us feel special but humble at the same time, the complimentary breakfast was delicious, the rose and weather report gifts were nice added touches. Thanks Oban Inn. Wonderful staff. Very friendly and accommodating. Location is wonderful. Right across from the lake and a very nice nine hole golf course. My wife enjoyed the spa and the courtyard pool was refreshing. Shopping and theaters a few blocks away. Great staff, excellent chef and wait staff, nice continental breakfast, location with proximity to golf course and golf club patio restaurant on the river. Also walking distance to everything in town. Overall beautiful property!. The staff were excellent. The room/bed etc was comfortable. We loved the sunroom. We really loved the gardens, the spa, the pool. Also, the women who cleaned our room every day did an excellent job. Upgrade to King Premium room was a nice surprise. Room was private with own entrance. Very relaxing. Did not use the restaurant this time. Location was great for wlking around - not a busy area. The room was really nice and the bed was very comfortable. The location was great for us to walk along the lake and getting to main street was really easy. Location, bed, food-continental breakfast grounds. friendly staff great location lovely grounds. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I liked the staff, atmosphere, meals. general ambience and location. The service was very good. Location. The only thing I would mention is that we had a room with a Queen bed and it was a bit on the small side. Absolutely perfect for 2 people to sleep, but no place to sit together unless you are sitting on the bed. It also would have been lovely to have a small refrigerator for the items purchased at the shops. That being said, the staff was very helpful in providing some ice for the small cooler we brought, so we could have cool beverages in the evening. Because it was off season we didn't get to enjoy what comes with Niagara on the Lake in beautiful weather-festival, restaurants, golf, etc. discounted prices during the summer season would be helpful. We also would have dined at the Inn's restaurant but the prices were beyond our means. N/A. Air conditioning in our sun room was leaking. However this was part of an upgrade to our room and was a nice additional space. We stayed during a July heat spell so this became an issue.. The a/c outside our sunroom was very noisy. We would have liked two really comfortable armchairs in the sunroom and reading lights over the bed. Also, would like to know about the hotel's eco practices/policy. Also, we hope staff are paid a decent wage/with benefits, since they truly deserve it!. Have been going to The Oban for over 40 years. Miss the charm and ambiance of the older inn; quite modern now. Glad to see a portion of the original lounge/bar was retained. The bathroom (tiles) seemed outdated and I thought for the cost I would have preferred a full breakfast not continental. lack of a small refridgerator - had to rely on buckets of ice being brought to the room to get soft drinks cool. N/A. it rained. not enough time. Would prefer a breakfast buffet with some more choices than what was offered on the "tower" or vary the selections on the tower every few days. Loud conversation from group using First Floor conference room. Door needed closing. It would have been nicer if your web page would have noted your gym. Not much space is available for suitcases and travel gear. Our room was a bit small. lack of consistency in breakfast service in restaurant-first day was perfect, second day we had to wait & did not receive attentive service -. the power went off due to storm poor/almost none counter space in bathroom. There were problems with the Wifi in the room. wish they had a fridge in the rooms. We stayed in the adjacent house and it smelled of mildew. Over priced for amenities received, small rooms, no fridge in room, terrible bathroom .... no vanity for toiletries, desk staff not knowledgeable about Niagara on The Lake, desk staff never smiled, continental breakfast nice, but had to ask waitress constantly to refill coffee and refill small food tray. (We had a party of four and waitress brought three pieces of toast.) $4 for a can of pop ..... really???? Will never return.
