There was a pool which looked nice (although we did not use it). The size of our room (we had a queen room with 2 queen beds) and it was bright and close to an extra exit so we did not need to go too far to get our luggage. Plus: We had a squirrel visiting us in front of the window a couple of times :) The hotel is located outside of city centre which is fine if you have a car - an advantage are definitely the stores and restaurants nearby (Tim Hortons, Wendy's, Subway etc.) Moreover, we found .
all reviews » Thought this was a lovely hotel located beside the highway. We had a car so is only a short drive into Kingston which is a lovely town. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There is a cinema just down the road and some outlet shops. Breakfast was included and. Room was large, bed was comfortable. Furniture was a bit dated but functional. It was good to have both a fridge and microwave without having to pay extra. Pool was very nice. Continental breakfast exceeded expectations. Overall--excellent value for the price. Olivia, the clerk who welcomed us was extremely efficient and was able to help us with a major problem! Many thanks to her and congratulation to the administration of First Canada Inn who keeps their property in such a good order! It was a great stay! :-). The room was nicer, cheaper and bigger than an average Comfort Inn (1/2 the price of Comfort Inns), and breakfast was included which was an even better value. I requested a fridge and microwave and it was provided at no extra charge. It was a great value. The room was very clean and the beds were very confortable.They had a good variety of yogurt,fruit,cereal,sweets,muffins,juice, coffee and tea to choose from at breakfast .The pool and jacuzzi were a bonus. Excellent location. The room. pool. The furniture / the interior of the room were a bit out-of-date and you could see signs of decline. The breakfast room could have been bigger (there are only 2 proper tables, 1 bar to sit at and 2 sofas with small tables as far as I remember). The walls and the ceiling were wafer-thin so you could hear people walking above you and in the hallway all the time (as usual people don't care about others sleeping at night or very early in the morning). Not enough towels for the three of us. A few cobwebs by the ceiling. There was no blow dryer. The couch was saggy. The coffee maker in our room did not work. The pool area need some serious repair, and the light fixtures need some serious cleaning. They were covered with mold and you could easily see while you were swimming. Plastic bowls, plates & cutlery at breakfast. Don't know if they were recyclable. None. Towels that were not the softest. Evening front desk girl could have been a little more friendly! As well as wore appropriate clothing!! Too revealing of a shirt to be wearing! Was aweful!! Also there could have been more towels available for the pool! And when we asked for pool towels we were told she could do nothing about it we would have to use our room towels! :-( pool area could have been a lot cleaner than it was!. Would have loved if you had a pay-per-view channel. The breakfast room felt cramped the way it was set up. The hot tub made a noisy geyser in the pool when the jets were turned on. I couldn't get onto my internet --- probably no fault of the hotel, because others were on. The hot tub wasn't working on Sunday. Too noisy in the hallways --- other guests, like hockey parents, acted like no one else was staying there and talked loudly. The options for breakfast were not suitable for someone who is health-conscious about the food they eat. Poor cleanliness. Object should be maintained better!. Staff at reception were a little frosty. Children playing hockey in the corridors very loudly outside our room. large dogs and children unsupervised, you should have permanent rooms for pets and people with teenage children as an older couple we found it noisy, also large groups like the girls hockey teams , have another wing for them too. very noisy air conditioners as when it came on we jumped every time. ironing board was tiny so ironing clothes became a very challenging task,. Room door seal when closed. No shampoo in the bathroom, heathing sytem. breakfast room was to small. all so the plug for the coffee maker was not assessable and only one cream. needs some minor renos, paint looks tired, cracked tile in bathroom. Just needs sprucing up. drunken fathers with their little kids running up and down the halls shouting. Where you would eat breakfast,and the small bathroom, lack of attention to replenishing towel supplies in pool. I liked it all. Beds are high and the tv is low So it's very hard to watch tv in bed. lack of basics in bathroom,. Can't complain for the price. More small tables for breakfast. Large sofa and chair takes up too much room in games room. Breakfast was served with plastic cutlery, paper plates, and Styrofoam coffee cups. our lampshade in room was obviously damaged/ torn and not replaced. found it a little noisy around 5a.m. and no hairdryer in room. keys instead of key cards kept forgetting to lock the door as most places lock automatically. bed was hard. Plumbing (toilet) did not work well. a little old facilities. The children running up and down the hallways yelling for much of the day. The carpets were so dirty it was discusting. Freezing cold when we arrived. We adjusted the AC. Nothing. all seemed ok. I didn't like the no name food items served for breakfast and the staff really need to learn how to make coffee it was undrinkable, when we checked in, the female at the desk said your room not ready come back at 3:00 she was very very unfriendly she was also unfriendly the next day,when we finally were able to check in, the other female was very friendly,she made you welcome she also was there next day grumpy female should watch and learn from miss friendly.
