One of the main attraction of the hotel is the close proximity of the lake, the all the tourist attraction and some of the good restaurants. The hotel staffs are really friendly and took good care of the guests. Specially one named Karen who was at the desk while we arrived at the early Saturday morning. Instead of a hassle-free stay, there was some struggling to understand the payments at check-out. After an explanation by the front desk, it seems that there was some false advertising on the website. Caution: Note that the prices you see do not include tax. For some reason, the tax is a whopping 15%. The total payment ended up being a much larger sum than expected. Breakfast, though included in price. we came to this hotel last year and the room felt like a better size! I'm sure there all the same for a 1 bed, but the way the one we were in this time wasn't as complimenting as the one that we stayed in. Parking, lots were small. I don't think anything is wrong with it just a design flaw. Air conditioning (weak). TV (old technology). The room had a smell that was not nice. I have no idea was it was from Carpet, water, damp ???? They should look at this. Needed more bedding besides bedspread, there were no blanklets. Rooms on the small side, tired and a little dated with a strong smell of air freshener. Noise from other rooms very audible. Noise - either from other travellers fighting or from the night club next door. We did not like the continental breakfast, the waffles were nice but the rest of the food selection was poor. It was in an area of town where it was extremely noisy @ night, the insulation was incredibly poor, was a challenge to fall asleep. I found the room really dated, carpets old, furniture old, and for the money I thought it was a little over priced. I stayed in Vancouver for the same money in a 5 star hotel downtown with modern furniture and it was a one bedroom suite. Rooms are run down and badly in need of refurbishment. Would not be so bad if it was cheap, but price was much higher than far better rooms in Banff and Jasper. Have the impression from eating out that Kelowna is generally overpriced. The hotel was grungy and dirty and the staff was rude. She did absolutely nothing to help us and got frustrated and raised her voice when asked for something. The pictures online were very misleading as this hotel is dirty, old and poorly kept. It was expensive and poorly run.
