This hotel/motel was a great experience. It's located directly off highway 60 but you wouldn't hear any noise from the road. In front of the building there's a lake that belongs to the property and that can be used anytime. There were pedal boats that could be used free of charge which we did straight away as the weather was great. You could also sit on the lawn in front of the lake and enjoy the day. all reviews » The hotel is very well located, gives straight onto a lake where you can kayake or just sit and admire the scenery. Very close to Algonquin park, it is a perfect spot to set off and come back to. The room was really nice, spacious, and very clean. We appreciated the staff, they gave us a warm welcome, explained about the park, the restaurant and the room. We liked the facilities in the room: microwave, fridge, cutlery and the chairs outside on the balcony. The motel is a little gem. The owners are on-site and very friendly and attentive. It is exceptionally clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast was really good with real home-fried potatoes. Eggs were cooked exactly as ordered. The server was naturally cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful about the best the route for us to take to Toronto. The gardens were beautiful and obviously a "labour of love". From the time we checked in, Irene made us feel welcome and special. The resort is beautiful with all rooms overlooking the gardens and small, pristine lake. The swimming was wonderful after a day of hiking and the canoes & kayaks were a bonus. The restaurant was great with all meals freshly prepared...especially the cabbage rolls! We will definitely return. Perfect spot to stay for any occasion. My wife and I stayed for two nights. We were on our motorbikes. Owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Visitors are provided with canoes, paddle boats, hiking is available as well as guest pass to Algonquin Park. Children staying there appeared to be having a wonderful time. Food at resturaunt is not cuisine but we enjoyed every mouthful. Always full at mealtimes. It was close to Algonquin NP, but a quiet and peaceful location. There were free water craft to use in their lake, and trails to explore. They provided a Park access card at a reduced rate The Manager and waitress were so friendly and helpful - their effervescent personalities set the tone for the place. the food was excellent and well priced the room large ,very clean and updated .bed comfortable the beach and view really private and relaxing. I liked the full balconies for outside sitting the chairs about the resort for quiet retreat felt at home. Awesome little paradise for a really low price. We had the best waitress looking after us too. I was travelling alone with my 7 year old son who kept repeating "This place is awesome!!!" while splashing on their private beach. Dinner was so,so, breakfast was better. The mosquitos kept you indoors, they were out in full force. Not the fault of the hotel. A bit isolated. Room charge not include breakfast. Mosquitos and other insects are in their natural element on the lake shore. Not very annoying but noticeable. Could hear lot of noise from people moving around in room above us. Mattress a little too soft for our personal taste. No hair dryer in room. the bed was too soft for our liking, but far from a deal breaker. Price. Not applicable. Poor menu selection and quality of cooked meals poor. Actually, nothing.
