  We really enjoyed the layed back atmosphere, the Nova Scotia "feel". We have "never" and mean "never" experienced a motel like the Hedley House...Folks, you don't get what we got at the Holiday Inn or any other chain motel... We were greeted by two most friendly Management Staff and guess what, they both the guitar and keyboard.... Yes, they playe... what people say » d us a couple of tunes upon arrival and they played again in the morning during out delicious continental breakfast. When be booked, we were looking f - The location was perfect and beautiful. The facilities were rustic and quaint but all we needed. The best part was the "Hostess with the Mostess", Joanne. From the moment she welcomed us to the hug that sent us on our way, we felt as though we were part of the family. And where else can one be serenaded by the hostess at breakfast? We really hated to leave when our four days came to an end. We will certainly come back!

  The location was good-only 10 minutes from Digby, well signposted from the highway so easy to find. We got a really warm welcome from Darren on arrival and lots of great recommendations for places to eat, which was invaluable as a lot of places closed early. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, comfortable, with a view ove... what people say » r the garden. The ensuite bathroom was well equipped with good quality toiletries. The breakfasts, served in a lovely light, airy room overlooking the - The room was perfect for my husband, myself, and our 5 year old daughter! We left a less than desirable motel to stay a night here and we wished we had found it sooner. The beach was close-by and easily accessible for a walk at low tide. Our daughter loved the playground and would have enjoyed the pool if it had been warmer. The staff gave us great suggestions to fill our time, since going to Smith's Cove wasn't in our original plan. Definitely go to the Fort in Annapolis Royal! And the breakfa

  This is a classic seaside and country resort. The original intent is genuinely adhered to by the owners. The Mountain Gap is meant to transport you to another time and place and this is most definitely achieved. Country cabins are expected to be rustic in nature, but these come with clean bedding, happy staff and an air conditioning and heating ... what people say » system you'd expect in a large hotel. The pool was spacious and clean. There was a playground and giant chess. There was a large fire pit with Adiron - Good location to use as a base for touring the area, dinner was excellent and suggestions of what to visit and where to eat were perfect. An ideal setting for families.
