The outside hot tub, the kids loved it after a long day of travelling. The quiet in the room. When the window was closed we didn't hear the trains at all. The front desk man was easy to deal with when our key wouldn't work for the pool door. We only stayed in Canmore as we could not find accommodation in Banff but were really happy we went to this hotel. Would definitely use again when in the Banff area as great location and not as expensive as Banff.

I like the place. Elegant & decent look. Not crowded. Very clean. Has everything from tv to fridge, phone, ironing stuff, tables, etc. 2. Parking space & its free 3. The view from the window. I liked the layout of the room in that there was a bedroom with a door, a separate seating area / pullout bed and a bit of a kitchette. We also very much enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and fitness room. the staff were very kindly and support motivated-very helpfull in giving details, instructions & many usefull tips how to reach into the stampede festival. the room was big & comfortable. clean rooms though there was a red wine stain on the carpet in the room but the bed was lovely room was a bit warm just needed to turn the heating off staff were very friendly good value. I made reservation on line and when I get there front desk agent had my reservation ready. He was very help full even though it wasbusy. He was fast at checking us inn. The overall appearance of chateau was very nice. Loved that it had beautiful mountain views. Room was spacious with extended sitting and tv area. liked that. Lots of room for two. Loved the loft, which gave more room to relax in the living room area. We spent more time in the room as it felt like a cottage. The design of the room was perfect for my girlfriend and I. We loved that there was a separate sitting area for early morning visiting/coffee. a hotel that meets a 3.5 star standard the price for it is also pretty good the location is good with all the necessary stores and shops around. Helpful staff, comfortable bed, convenient location for Banff National Park, mountain views, clean, and good size of suite for the money. The view from the room was fantastic! The king bed was very comfortable and while the window seemed small, the room was very spacious!. Our suite was quiet. Reduced price ($109 + 9%) was "right" for 3-star in high season. Regular rates were out of reach for seniors. The room was very clean and comfortable. Had a hard time finding a space and once we did the space was so tight we had a hard time getting out of the vehicle. Pool area had no lighting so it was pretty dark and very cold. Wished it had a shallower area or stairs. The receptionist, whilst efficient in her duties, never once smiled and was very abrupt with all guests. Front of house staff should always welcome customers and this could mean a loss of business in the future. There was nothing to dislike. 1. The sink in the bathroom was a little bit clogged or not draining well. Inside our room I heared footsteps or noise from upstairs, like somebody running. 2. Wish I had free breakfast 3. No Bar at night. I found the bed to be quite soft and the parking to be very poor. The parking stalls are too narrow which pretty much eliminates half of the parking unless you are driving a compact car or motorcycle. The restaurant charged me $7.50 for two cups of coffee after they went to the front desk for complimentary coffee and provided us with real cream rather than the powdered whitener available in the room and at the front desk. So, I paid $7.50 for real cream in free coffee :(. Comforters on the bed very static. .not sure why ..we could see sparking lights ..please fix it. It was so annoying. The A/C unit was very noisy when it cut in. I did not get a very good sleep. Décor is old and feel the mattresses need to be updated. Overall, it was very clean which is important. In need of updating, which they told was coming in the future. Larger sink needed in kitchen area. The hot tub was out out of service and after a very cold hike that was a bit disappointing. We only discovered this when we arrived in the pool area. nothing really. Was a bit surprised to be woken up by a passing freight train as the description doesn't mention that it's close to the main CP railroad. Soon got used to it though. Prefer thin pillows. Should have taken our own. Eight pillows in suite - none were to out liking. No continental breakfast. - the rooms were basic in finishing. our bed wasnt very comfortable and we were disappointed the fireplace wasnt usable. The hotel is getting near time for renovation, does not have as elaborate facilities as most large hotels, and has some issues with outside noise. Did not enjoy being kept awake by the hourly trains going by outside our window. It would also have been nice to have the breakfast included in our room rate. The trains going by all day and the parking wasn't great. We were given a room and when we got there it had not been cleaned so we had to move to another room. The front desk seemed to be empty alot. We would go to get towels for the pool or ask a question and no one would be there. Dated, lack of a big enough common area. Train tracks, couldn't take the stairs easily from 3rd floor to the 2nd, room key de-magnetized everyday and wouldn't open the door. Well, the couch was kinda ugly but that's about it. 1) Hot Tub water looked really murky and in need of a change on this trip (other visits we had it did not look like this). 2) Parking stalls are too small and I almost got boxed in this time due to a poor driver who checked-in after me. I had very limited space to get in my car beside the mini van. 3) The elevator is still slow as molasses. EXTREMELY frustrating because you cannot access the pool and gym on the second floor via stairs from the 3rd/4th. Location is a bit out. Not in Canmore town. Also we got a room with a kitchenette because we thought it would be nice to prepare lunches, but there was no cutlery or anything just a fridge and a microwave! Girl at the desk hates her job. When your going on a trip you want to be greeted by someone who is friendly and helpful. Nothing. No comment. The loft rooms face the railroad so the noise is bad 24/7. The restraunt was closed for much of our stay which was somewhat inconvenient. - Fitness centre is too small and only one trade mill. - tap water for coffee tasted different. - it would be nice to include free break fast. - train passing at night. Located next to the train tracks. Like most hotels, the smell of bleach or other cleaners was strong in room. It would be great if they would switch over to eco-friendly cleaners/laundry detergents. Needs more towel racks.As a result of the flooding, could drink the water. The hotel provided water in the lobby. No breakfast included. When booking ask for a room that faces the highway. The other side faces the main Trans Canadian railway. The main passing area is right outside the windows at the rear of the hotel and can take a train 3 minutes to pass through including the night!! This is not motel owners fault of course, so unless you like trains get the rooms out front. the pool wasn't big enough and should have a water slide for the pool...they could have more activities for children.. Sofa bed was not very comfortable. The hot water in the room was not hot enough. There was no label on the heater to show where the temperature controls were, hard to find. Price quoted on letsbookhotel.com was shown differently at hotel. Fortunately the price was changed to match the booking ($10 per room difference).
