You will not find a cheaper place to stay in the Rockies...about the same price as a hostel. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and the staff were very friendly. Quiet location and not a of lot noise from other guests. The service was great and we were by the parking lot and it never bothered us at all. We were able to take a walk and enjoy the mountians from the inn. Loved this place and will book again on our next trip.

If you are looking for a place to stay and are not interested in "bells and whistles" this is your place. The price was definitely good! I liked the cleanliness, the proximity, and the eco-friendliness--I do not need my bed made and towels changed everyday. I liked everything about Mountain View Inn. Price of course. After reading reviews I wondered what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was as clean as any and had all we needed. Coffee was available in the office. Within easy walking distance to the Radison, where we attended a convention. Half the priceof the Radison, safe, clean, friendly, comfortable. Everything was o.k. This hotel is appropriate for tourist, close to the centre of the nice village. The price was very reasonable I didn't expect more than I paid for, it was clean and comfortable. The price!! It was very clean, comfortable and an excellent price!. Economical. Conveniently located, quiet, clean. All u can ask for. price is better than stay in Banff and quality is a lot better. The staff were excellent, considering the pressure the were under due to the flooding and isolation of Canmore. Kept us up to date on what was happening, Sally was extremely helpful, even though her house was in the flood area and she might have had to evacuate at a moments notice. The young man on the desk was exceptional. His name is Cameron. He bent over backwards to accommodate us and was very efficient in helping with my credit card problems. Nothing particular but was clean, and the room is great. Not luxury but great. Room was clean and basic. No breakfast, but good restaurants in the neighbourhood. No noise from neighbours or traffic. The price was very good and the units were clean. Great access in and out of town. Booked 3 rooms, one of the rooms the heat did not work. They provided a space heater and that worked fine but it was clear that the room heat had not worked in some time. No elevators. Also there was no coffee making facility on my return vist. Room was in disrepair. But clean. No pool, hot tub, or balcony. Awful TV. No coffee or extras. a bit cold, thermostat not adjustable. beds not too comfortable, noise from hallways. frigde would be nice to have in the room. no fridge or microwave. WiFi rather slow. No fridge in room. Few amenities. I definitely expected the suite that was shown on the website. nothing. No fridge or microwave. No front desk after 11:00 pm. There are no facilities for storing or cooking food (e.g. Mini fridge, communal microwave) - these would be helpful for families or longer-term travelers. It was really cold. We had to grab a little heater from the front desk. It was perfect after that. The only thing that went against the hotel was the carpet between the two beds had not been vacuumed and a microwave or coffee pot be put in the rooms, or even have a microwave at the front desk to warm food up. The picture is deceptive. The hotel looked nothing like the pic depicts. Did someone climb a tree to get this pic?? The hotel was old and shabby. Needs a lot of upgrades. My son and his fiancee's room was clean but mine could have done with some extra vacuuming. The curtains were shabby and full of holes. Although we got it at a discount rate I don't know that I would stay there again. There was no coffee maker as advertised. The remote for the tv which also was old didn't work properly. I can only think of a few things that I did not like about my stay here. First was the blocked drain when having a shower, room hadn't been vaccummed properly lots of crumbs down beside the bed and the noise of people coming from the hallway during the night. It would help a lot if they closed the gap at the bottom of door. No restaurant. Bed need to be change or more comfortable. Was like a plywood!. Bit strange rules/possible "hidden" costs for lost keys, noise and damaging policy. All explained well, but different from other hotels. No amenities, TV'S require to be updated(modern), beds were uncomfortable. Had to make your own complementary coffee in the small lobby, if you wanted a cup in the morning. Place was very simple... There was no coffee maker in room and we had to go to the main lobby for this - we were on the 2nd floor. Most other hotels have a fridge and microwave as standard now but there were none here and the ice machine was broken on the 2nd evening so we couldn't keep anything cool. They also charged extra if you wanted basic housekeeping. no fridge. coffee only available downstairs and the smell of burnt drip filter coffee was awful. beds were very firm and i like firm beds but these were like wood. wifi did not work very well no fridge in room bed spread and blanket looked well worn and a bit grungy. Bed was very uncomfortable. Small bathroom. Bed was hard, burn holes in bedding, small TV. Beds were very uncomfortable. Very hard. Room was not easy to reach. Cleaniness was not the best. no coffee in lobby as advertised,no plugins for computers etc. Room service did not exist in the 3 days we stayed. No clean floors, beds not made. A key deposit was taken on credit card but when they were returned I was told it would be reversed in 3 days after we left. It should have been processed at the time. I would not recommend or stay there again. Everything else. Where to start! Rock hard beds, very noisy air conditioning unit, no fridge or coffee maker in room . Ice machine had "out of order" sign on it . Whole unit had a run down , tired feel and look to it.
