I like that the staff and the owners are very helpful and genuinely good to the hotel guests. I also like that they are not after making money/profit but wanted to make the best for their customers. Based on the hotel rules, request for late check out will mean a payment of additional day. However, they did not bill us on the extra charge because there are no incoming guests that will occupy our room. And we were so willing to pay since they do not really charge much on the rooms. all reviews » - Super-friendly stuff and very kind owner Timon will consultate you about the places around and can help you to find a way there (they have a huge map of Cambodia on the wall in the guest house) - Nice continental breakfast included (with real coffee - not instant one) with nice fruits. It is all on the top of the hotel with green bunches and a view on the jungles and a small peak of Angkor Wat )) - They have a backyard with small crocodile and couple turtles - We stayed on the first floor. We were so lucky to find this great place. We felt so at home, thanks to Timon and Gemma, for a memorable 5-day stay. Great location, lovely place to hang out, balcony, rooftop cafe-restaurant, and even the backyard, with all those greenery. The tuktuk service and arranged tours were terrific, so organized. We were pampered by friendly, warm and welcoming staff. Great food service (Timon even went to the wet market to shop for shrimps so I could have shrimp curry, Cambodian style!). Best gues. Excellent, kind and friendly staff, wonderful location, close to the temples, ideal for doing Angkor on a bike ( the best way). They can organise any kind of trip you want around Siem Reap, with their very own tuk tuk or with car. Good food available at the guesthouse and a beautiful upstairs terrace to chill out at, after a hard day's temple safarying. Oh, and Bali, the cutest and friendliest cat in the world! ( and I am not much of a cat person!). I like the staffs, very accommodating and has excellent customer service! Madame Gemma (the owner) was very kind to the 7 of us, she made us felt at home and at ease to her place. The 2 cambodian staffs were very nice, I love their generous smiles, I felt so welcomed and the room was so nice! I didnt expect that be so good. Its really nice to see in person than in pictures. Very relaxing and I slept the entire night in just one position. haha. Owners and staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem. Very nice bar/dining area on rooftop with great ambience. Went out of their way to prepare an early breakfast on our last day and organised take away lunch for our bus trip back to Phnom Penh. Reminder email prior to arrival offering any assistance required and follow up email after we had returned home. Tuk Tuk driver part of hotel and courteous and knowledgeable. The owner couple and the stuff was always very friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace was very nice for eating & relaxing (nice furniture and plants). Breakfast was included and they prepared for us a sandwich box because we went to Angkor very early in the morning. The guesthouse is also just 10-15 min (by bicycles) away from Angkor Wat and in a non touristy, local street! We can really recommend this place!. There where a few preferable thinks; in sequence: Airport pick up; comfortable check-in, welcome drink; cool draft beer on the fabulous rooftop bar; nice menus incl breakfast, perfect arrangements and tours to angkor wat ... an many more. The owners (an European couple) are very friendly, staff are nice and helpful too. My room (single air-conditioning) is a decent one and it is very clean, good value for money. I like their restraurant on the 3rd floor as well. Offers a variety of both western and cambodian food at a reasonable price. Overall, I enjoyed my stay in the guesthouse. :). We chose to stay at Firefly for the location to Angkor and also to be away from the 'commercial' pub street. The rooms were spacious, clean, lovely bar upstairs. They had a tuktuk driver pick me up and drop me off at the airport, set up the best tours for me, and really went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. We liked the easy-going charm of the Firefly; Gemma and Simon and their staff really made us feel at home. The guesthouse was a convenient location for Angkor Wat and not too far from the busy Siem Reap centre. The upstairs bar/restaurant was a real haven from the world outside. A memorable place to stay. Cheap and good value for money. To leave this ''Guesthouse''. There is really nothing that I did not like. - You have to ask to change the towels. Leaving the place with all our fond memories behind. Minor complaints really. The area has a few furniture shops around and sometimes they can be a bit noisy, but not much, and normally it's very quiet at the times when guests are there ( from early evening). Also, at least in our room there was a slight problem with the shower water, no pressure and not really warm, but from my experience, this is common in most places in Cambodia, even Phnom Penh. Would have been nice to have a small bar fridge in our room. In walkible distance there are no restaurants, but with a bycicle no problem. I have absolutely no idea what to complain about. We had the room with no air-con, only one fan. It was to hot to sleep. Two fans maybe would have worked. The location was a bit off from the city with the restaurants and markets. (But easy to take a tuk-tuk.). Only small critiscm is the bar area was a little too dark to eat, but lovely ambience for drinking. Curtains could be a little bit thicker as very bright early on. Just minor things but thoroughly enjoyed our time here!. At times, it was a bit noisy due to local businesses but that went with the location. You always need to take a tuk-tuk, it's too far to walk. Only 1 thing to complain, I need to move to other room because I was booked only 1 night but they did not inform us about price increase from booking rate. - Far from city center - Food more expansive than city center and not very tasteful. None, everything was just perfect. The bicycles for rent are in a poor condition. Very poor. it's somewhat hot. Poor aircon. Water pressure and location. - Breakfast. I don't want to go into detail as the owners are really nice people and they have recently taken over this hotel, but I sincerely hope they make some effort to bring this up to todays standards. There's no alternative place to have a decent breakfast in that area either. - Hard pillows. Or was it because I just came from à hotel where pillows were fluffy, full and soft?. Since the name of the place was nearby unknown by the locals I reco ment to use the pick up service of the hotel. - Menu offers mostly Western Food to affordable prices but Khmer Food is quite expensive (Khmer Curry 5 USD) - Slow internet (Allegedly it is everywhere the same in Siem Reap). little far from old market. the whole two week i was there my sheets and towels werent changed. A little off the main road, harder to find tuk tuks. The room wasnt cleaned in 5 nights, when I asked for toiletpaper on the 3rd day the staff replied: ''oh, I forgot to clean your room today''. It is close to pretty much NOTHING. You have to eat the hotels expensive food. They also have the most expensive tours to Angkor and tuk-tuk services. I got really bad and threw up after eating beef at their restaurant, foodpoisoned? Would not recommend.
