A great find for my two days in Sao Paulo. I attended a trade show at the Frei Caneca Convention Center. The hotel was 1 and 1/2 blocks from the center. It was absolutely convienent. Some reviewers have complained that it is in the red light district but I thought it was fine. It was a 15 minute walk to Ave. Paulista and the metro along brightly lit, busy streets. although the hotel shows some age from the outside, the room is surprisingly well-maintained, and delightfully cosy. It is spacious, and impaccably clean, airy, and most importantly, flat-screen TV, and fast wifi access making our stay more cosy and convienent. We will stay there again next time when we are in Sao Paulo. In terms of location, it is quite central. The closest metro is about 8 - 10 mins walk (slightly uphill) on the Paulista Street where is main commerical buildings are. Like some - Leanne

Everything was superb during our one night stay. Clean, great bed and the best breakfast we had in Brazil. Sweetest papaya ever and cafe quality cafezinho. A terrific value at $67 for a double. Cannot remember the name of the nearby restaurant on Rua Augusta & Albuquerque, but do not miss the excellent feijoada completa, a great bargain at some 21 reais for two. Good location in that it is near the Paulinista Av, though do be aware that you are smack in the middle of the redlight district. - Bob
