We were upgraded on arrival to a sea view room which was absolutely
fabulous. The room was ultra comfortable and the bathroom very large.
The hotel had the luxurious feel you would expect from this standard
with nice furniture and carpets in public areas. The pool area had
plenty of sunbeds and nice white towels and a champagne bar in the
corner.

Its location is very good for the best beach and safety in Rio area. The staff is so nice that you don't have to worry about anything though they cannot speak good English. Perfect for a two-three day getaway and would work well if the beach is not an option (winter) or just to mix it up before/after a few days at the beach. The area itself is interesting and from what I gather has some cool drinking holes and restaurants. One could start and finish a book in peace here, yet 'feel Brazilian', and not feel they need to join the flock of tourists seeing the usuals in Rio. I enjoyed spending time at the bar, restaurant and spa - perfect for a day of indulgence!

I found the staff to be approachable and helpful. The ocean view room was terrific - great view of Copacabana Beach. Plus, we allowed a late check out because our flight home left in the evening. In all, the experience was excellent. -
