Manaus Hotels

My husband and I stayed here before and after our trip to the Amazon Jungle Towers. We found the staff very eager to help us in everything from working on our Portuguese to selecting drinks at the bar to arranging transportation to and from the airport and to and from our hotel in the jungle. It's a little far from the airport, and the ride isn't especially scenic, but I would most likely stay there again if I was in the area due to the great value and the service. - Foukalova

My family and I (2 adults, 2 children) stayed in 2 rooms at this hotel in July 2008. The front desk was very friendly during check-in except the clerk kept insisting my reservation was in USD when it was actually in Brazilian Reals. I had to show her a copy of the reservation from my e-mail until she was finally convinced. The rooms themselves are very basic, with ceramic tile throughout the unit and a very simple kitchenette. Getting here is an adventure itself. Van, boat, van, boat with beautiful scenery on the way! Lovely place on stilts and you each get a beautiful lodge to yourself. A bit basic but you need that for a more authentic jungle experience. the trips from there were amazing and our guide was amazing and so knowledgeable. It is truly breathtaking there. The local wildlife entertains you for hours and its so much fun to feed the parrots and monkeys! The viem from your room and your comfy hammock is breat - Vicki

My family and I (2 adults, 2 children) stayed at the Ariau Towers for 2 nights in 2 rooms in Tower 5 (which is fully A/C). Rooms were adequate when you realize where exactly you are (in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest!). Activities were good. We agreed the best was the jungle TREK (informative), followed closely by caiman spotting (daring), native's house (interesting to see the way they live) and lastly, piranha fishing (relaxing but also slightly boring).
