For the money it was perfect.Very friendly and helpful staff,clean, and comfortable beds too.Particularly good to get to the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff, we had a wonderful time. Especially Virginia and Yves made our stay wonderful!. Receptionist always available/helpful. Central location. Our room was nicely decorated. They served a good breakfast although they did not seem to replenish the buffet even though guests were still coming in.

The hotel is a lovely old building in the heart of Ostend. The rooms are generously sized with high ceilings and simple decor. Our room this year (2008) had been renovated and had a great walk-in shower.The room was large and very clean and modern, it was a pleasant surprise. renovated room was comfortable, clean \ modern. Our room was very small for two people, they should consider renting it as a single room. You had to squeeze past the bathroom sink to reach the shower and was nearly impossible to shut the door if you were using the sink.Our room was on the street side and a little loud at night. It was stated on the website that there was English breakfast, but in fact it was a buffet, no bacon, only scrambled egg, but there was bread, cheese, cold meats etc. Would have liked more selection of food in the Brasserie and it did not stay open very late.breakfast was minimum. Hotel needs to spend some time on small general maintenane within the rooms. lighting in the room was poor and too brite in bathroom.bed covers were too small when you are over 5ft 10" and room should have double beds not single. There was no air conditioning and as it was so hot the windows had to be opened and it was so noisy. no parking. Small room by modern standards, no tea or coffee making equipment. No table lamp. Small, tatty, dingy room, not very clean and altogether rather unpleasant. We have never seen such a narrow and dark room in a star rated hotel before. Window to a very dirty airshaft. No washbasin in the toilet. No water in the cistern. Breakfast was poor. No selection of bread. Warm food only if you are very early. No fruits or vegetable. Very noisy staff during breakfasttime.The Hotel did not have hot water in the morning, and when I complained and asked for an explanation, I didn't fully ubderstand the answer about some sort of delivery. As a family we left the hotel without washing, and as you can apprecate this is not acceptable customer service.
