Spaciuos room (we had the front central apartment with a balcony). Friendly helpful staff. Good restaurant - excellent meals which you wouldn't guess from the overly modest menu descriptions e.g. fish soup turned out to be a large tureen containing enough for two people! Excellent value for money. Excellent value for money. very spacious with plenty of room in the apartment for our family of 4. Great to have kitchen facilities in our room, including a dishwasher. Reception staff very friendly.
all reviews » The hotel rooms were actually like a timeshare unit with kitchen pots and plates ect and had a living room too. Space of accommodation. Excellent secure car-parking. Perfectly clean, big and exactly what they advertised. A pleasant 15 min walk by a canal and streets with old buildings on the way to the old town. The breakfast was on time and generous and with the predictable ham, cheese, bread and muesli. No surprises and lots of everything. I would definitely use this hotel again if I return to Ghent. Good quality room, generous upgrading, friendly and helpful staff. The reception clerk was outstanding and so very helpful. We liked the bathroom too very much and it was very warm inside even though the weather wasn't too hot outside. The main town was within walking distance. No, but minor suggestions. 1 - option of a kettle instead of a coffee maker (better and more economical with electricity than a saucepan). 2 - Tea cups or mugs for tea (coffee cups are much too small!). The walk from the train station was a solid 10 minute walk - but at night it was down a poorly lit, completely isolated road with houses that were a bit shabby and at night looked shabbier. The street is right there in front of the station, but poorly labelled so we didn't know where we were. When we called the reception, no one answered. Finally took a cab and hoped the hotel wasn't closed. Would have liked to have an iron/board and hair dryer.is on a busy street but the nights were quiet and did not interfere with our sleep. Supervision of cleaning for the shower screen could have been better but that is all.The location is 15min far from the center. Wall in bathroom needs a little renovation. If you want a double bed make sure you write separately because when booking through this website for two people the default is twin beds. Also, they do not provide a hairdryer or an iron in the room, so make sure you bring your own if you need them. no tea making facility in room. No free access to internet. The rooms lack atmosphere somewhat - comfortable rather than homely. And my room smelled strongly of smoke.working procedure during our stay, but after closing the door of the apartment it was nice and clean and during the night very quiet. Grab-handle on bathroom wall rusty at lower mounting. Too far from thecentre of Ghent. (So I'm afraid we would not come again). carpet in room had cigarette burn. maybe some noise but they are changing many things in their hotel.Room did not have a cosy atmosphere. Long walk from centre though it had a handy bus stop right next to the hotel. The bed was too soft for me and a bit small. it was too cold. Non Smoking policy. A renovation of the reception area is in progress which makes the first impression a bit shabby but it will be much better after completion. Breakfast is only till 09.00 hrs. It was a bit too far from the center. Also non smoking rooms were not very convenient. Breakfast were too early, we didn't get up.The twin beds were very small, they couldn't be pushed together. Not a good nights sleep. more than one pillow per bed would have been nice. The price for 1 person. it was further away from town centre than anticipated and the lift was incredibly slow. Also, I didn't appreciate the fact that on the second morning a cleaning lady noisely polished the breakfast room floor and that the waitress was tidying up all around us. Made for a very rushed unwelcome feeling.Filthy rags on the floor !!. Bathroom's a bit outdated.The bed was very small (standard double).
