About 30 minutes walk to Belvedere and Stephansdom. Close to the Wien Mitte station. No view from window - disappointing. Although areas were set aside for smokers, we are surprised that smoking is tolerated at all in public places. Very unpleasant if you are a non-smoker. Internet didn't work!!!!! Not enough light in the room. The bar closed too early. on the departure day our room was blocked 30 minutes prior our leave (10:30). No tea and coffee facilities, which was a let down. Expected a double bed but had twins. Not very romantic. Cobbled alleyway to reception means you are woken by guests dragging their cases along cobbles below your room. No iron in the room. Extortionate price for bottle of mineral water, normally courtesy free in other hotels. Standard room furnishing didn't correspond to my impression on a 4-star quality. Telephone in room did not work and information about Vienna was not always accurate. Staff seemed reluctant to clean the carpet immediately outside of room entrance (somebody had been sick and carpet was unsightly) or to cover with carpet/chair, etc.We thought the room/hotel was quite comfortable and clean but it was very outdated and not particularly value for money. I wouldn't rate it as a four star hotel but then again it seems like the standard in Austria is overall lower than it would be in Ireland and the UK. part of hotel staff not so helpful. Staff not particularly friendly. Coffee maker and tea bags in the room. Room needed painting and new carpet.The service in genral is not good, Room service was not concerned with details, like replacing finished shampoos, Laundrybags, etc In the restaurant it took ages to be served. There is no Room service afeter 10PM. lack of space in the rooms, lack of room service.Room was not quite clean, shower was leaking, after taking the shower all floor was wet, and there was no options to walk in after that, so, I had to throuw all towels on the floor... The staff was not friendly. The left-side of bed makes squeeky noise. This is the most expensive hotel that I stayed on my 3 week trip in Austria and not up to my standard.This is not a 4 star hotel!!! I went by the brand mercure because I knowthey have fair quality for the money. This one in particular: the guy atthe reception was not- friendly -towards -hostile to me when I asked foranother room, which I didn't get in the end. The room was awefully, amansarde, and the furniture is very old. Not worth the 130 euros/nightin advance!!!!!!!.

Approach the city of Vienna on the Südautobahn A2.
-Keep to the two left hand lanes heading towards the Airport.
-After driving through a tunnel, keep in the right-hand lane and leave the highway at the exit Landstrasser Gürtel - Zentrum.
-Get into the left-hand lane at the first traffic light and drive on along the Gürtel.
-Turn right at the fourth set of traffic lights into the Fasangasse.
-The entrance to the Hotel Biedermeier underground car park is at Ungargasse 17. Please press the intercom.

From the West
Approach Vienna on the Westautobahn A1.
-After the exit 'Neustift' there is 4-lane traffic.
-Keep to the two right-hand lanes, turning off the A2 into the A21 at the highway intersection 'Steinhäusl',
heading towards Wien Süd – Flughafen.
-After a 30 kilometers drive through the Vienna Woods you join the A2 at Mödling.
-Than you are coming from the South and you follow the instructions 'From the South'
