Salzburg Pet Friendly Hotels

Our recent stay at the Hotel Rosenvilla in Salzburg was pure delight. A small, boutique hotel located on the bus line or a short scenic walk from the center of town, it was an excellent value and a wonderful experience. We were greeted with a refreshing special welcome beverage, then shown to our lovely room furnished in warm wood furnishings with a lovely view of the garden and pond below. Quite agree with previous reviewers: everythhing is just right with this hotel: service is attentive, rooms don't look expensive but are tasteful and comfortable, the view is fantastic, breakfast too etc. A small spa would be nice, otherwise can't recommend this place enough. NB: location is not central but you can get there in 5-10 minutes by taxi (8 euros.) Considering the view you really dont mind being away from the crowds. Will prefer this to Sacher Salzburg or other downtown hotel next tim - June

We stayed in Schloss Monchstein for 5 nights during Christmas.... The location of the hotel is really nice on top of a hill which offers stunning views over Salzburg..the ways to get to the city are either to take the Monchsberg elevator [about 10 min walk from the hotel / costs 3.6 euros return] or walk down to the city [20 / 25 minutes] or take your car [parking is not that easy]. We stayed at Blobergerhof for 4 nights in September 2009. The owner Inge picked us up from the railway station which is about 20 minutes from the hotel and provided us with tourism information on the way. Inge and her daughter Sylvia were very helpful and attentive during our stay and organised our tour to the Eagle’s Nest and Sound of Music tour. We stayed in a Junior Suite which had satellite TV both up and downstairs, a bar fridge, a small patio overlooking the fields and mountains and a love - Catherine

This is the best hotel to stay in when visiting Salzburg. From your arrival at the front door to your departure, the staff could not be more helpful and professional. We felt like royalty for a couple of days. Our room was a junior suite which was beautiful with the most magnificent views of old Salzburg (plus, air conditioning working as it should (if needed)-even though it was September). stayed at the bristol for 12 nights; had a junior suite which really was a junior suite with 8 windows consisting of a bedroom, livingroom sitting room and hallway. fabulous views of salzburg from my windows plus an excellent buffet breakfast included in the rate made this junior suite a bargain. i had all my dinners at the hotel and never got sick (i have a bad stomach and have to be careful. the food was excellent and well prepared. the bristol is one of the finest hotels i have every stayed a - John

We were fortunate enough to stay at the recently opened Villa Trapp in Salzburg on 30 December 2008. Villa Trapp is the house where the real von Trapp family lived (not the house from the film which doens't really exist as it is made up of various exteriors in Salzburg and interiors filmed in Hollywood). I first came here to this hotel in April 2007. It was much better than I expected, and is quite possibly the best accomadation I've ever stayed in. OK at the time I was mainly used to scruffy hotels in Skegness, but this hotel was extremely clean and all the furniture and facilities were lovely and new. The view from the balcony of my room was fantastic, with a manificent view of Untersburg and other mountains and fields in the distance. This is a really good little hotel. The location couldn't be better, but so was everything else. The rooms were nice - not too overdone. Slightly smallish but smart. The restaurant is absolutely excellent. The art theme works well and the place presents a very different image to the norm. Very impressed! - Alan

My husband and I both studied abroad for a semester in Salzburg years ago and wanted to relive the experience. Staying at the Hotel Elefant helped to make our trip! It's right off the main shopping street - the Getreidegasse - and in the heart of downtown. You can walk to ANY of the main destinations. The service was great including a continental breakfast one wants to wake up for. The rooms are a bit tiny, but have Austrian charm and most importantly, their own bathroom. We appreciated the relaxing stay in this hotel and in particular the kindness of the staff. The hotel is placed next a park with ancient trees and it's possible to go in the centre of Salzburg passing through the Mirabell Park, full of flowerbeds multicolour. Very, very nice! When we came back to the hotel after the afternoon walk, it has been very relaxing to stay in the lounge in front of a glass of champagne and the view over the old town. I stayed here for 2 nights this April. Its within an easy walk of the train station. I arrived and whilst my room wasn't ready could sit out on the deck in the Spring sunshine enjoying my first ever Almdudler. My room was a good size with a 3/4 bath. Best of all was the wireless internet available in the hotel room. Can't fault the hotel staff, they were friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English when my German escaped me and I had fogotten my travel adapter to charge my phone/camera and - Lesley

Upon arrival we were assigned a room in the annex across the street from the main hotel. We complained and were told we could have a room in the main building if we wished. Upon checking out the room in the annex we decided to stay there. The room there was larger with a spacious sitting area and a large modern bathroom None of the rooms were luxurious but were certainly clean and comfortable. We stayed at Ante Portas because it was one of the most affordable places in Salzburg and we wanted to have a holiday on a budget and the accommodation had the facilities for self-catering. We got the bus from the airport to the bus station and then walked to the accommodation from there. I don't suggest doing this as it was a 5km walk! The one criticism of the accommodation is it's distance out of the centre, however it is on a frequent bus route and is only about a half hour walk into the c - Susan
